Marry's POV.

Saturday at my basketball tournament Kate, Amanda, Carmen, and Destiny were all having the deepest talk ever. It was insane we all told each other our enemies, best friends, crushes. Come to find out Kate likes Michael. Michael and I have know each other sense third grade, and I've liked him sense third grade. The whole purpose of introducing Jake and Kate was for them to date. Not to be besties.

In sixth grade I confessed to Michael but nothing ever happened with us. That might've been become he was dating Delilah at the time and I was dating Mitchell. My plan was once I told him he'd break up with Delilah for me and vice-versa.

Yeah it didn't work out too well but I won't stop until he loves me.

Kate's POV.

Marry likes Michael? How? They've been in the same class from third grade to now but that doesn't mean anything. The way she acts towards him doesn't make it seem like she does. She calls him stupid and a retard. This situation is causing my migraine. Now all I can think about is how much she hates me. I have a crush on her long lost love from freaking third grade. So many things were going through my mind.

How much will Delilah hate me if I date him?

How much will Marry hate me if I date him?

Does he still like Wendy?

Does he even like me like that?

All those and more were traveling through space and time waiting to be answered. After my migraine and stomach ache went away I still couldn't relax. I don't know why it's stressing me out so much. I want to go out with him but I don't want to feel guilty or awkward when we do.

This led to me thinking of my happy place. Where Jake happens to live. Jake always calms me down. I decided to text him

Me: Hey❤️

Jake❤️: Hey Kate what's up😜

Me: Not much. I'm just stressed and I need someone to talk to. Is that okay?

Jake❤️: Yeah of course you can talk to me about anything babe.

Me: lol. Okay.

Jake❤️: What?🤔

Me: Nothing babe.😅

Jake❤️: Oh😉

Me: Okay so there's like a lot of drama rn between me and marry but I think I'm over reacting.

Jake❤️: Like what? Are you guys good?

Me: Yeah it's like boy drama.

Jake❤️: I get it. Marry is trying to tell a boy she likes him and you're helping.

Jake❤️: Okay text me when the tournament is over.

I read the text and slipped my phone into my back pocket without responding. As looked up all the girls were doing three man weave on the court. I walked over to join when I felt my phone buzz. It was Jake again.

Jake❤️: hey I know you're busy but we need to talk about us.

Jake❤️: that's sounds weird but you'll get it when we talk.

I put my phone back into my pocket contemplating what he wanted to tell me.
