Kate Sage [ON HOLD]

chapter twelve

Jake's POV.

Kate and I were on our first official date. She insisted on us going to the fair that just opened up near my house. The sun was setting, there was a breeze, and her hair was blowing like waves in the ocean. We road the swings first. As we swung round and round she stuck her arms and screamed of enjoyment. Then we shot baskets at one of the booths. She ended up beating me and gave me her bear she won with a kiss on the cheek. That was my job but I was determined to win her one. We went and threw darts at balloons, and yes I crushed her at that game. The man gave me the biggest bear he had. I placed the bear in her arms and leaned in for a kiss. She kissed back immediately and smiled while putting her head down. Her chubby little cheeks were the cutest thing ever I couldn't help but kiss her again. I interlocked our fingers together as we slowly walked to the ferris wheel🎡. We stepped in line and waited till we were given a cart. Before I stepped on the ride Kate started slapping me yelling my name. I was so confused but all I felt was her hands slapping me in the face.

The slaps got harder and harder to obtain still one slapped me right out of the dream causing me to fall off my bed. It was my little sister Issy slapping me to wake up and play dolls with her.

J: "What do you want?" I shouted

I: I wanted you to play dolls with me." She said holding back her tears

J: "Oh my gosh Issy I'm so sorry I will." I felt so bad for yelling at her

I: "Nevermind if you don't you don't have to baba." She let a tear fall from her face

J: "Issy I would be honored to play dolls with you." I said grabbing her and spinning her around the room. She let out a giggle and stopped crying.

Michael's POV.

I can't believe Brandon would cheat on Lauren, I mean yeah she's a nut case, but not worthy of being cheated on. He better not try to get with Kate. She wouldn't fall for him anyway. At least I hope. If he lays a hand on her I will kick his butt. My thoughts were interrupted by Mr. Youngkin asking me what was the answer to number on on the daily quiz. I had absolutely no idea what the answer was.

He made me say after class to discuss my "day dreaming issue."

Mr.Y:" Mr. Sage you do know this is one of the many times I've gotten on you about not listening in my class." He said sternly

M: "Yeah yeah." I said rolling my eyes

He said some other stuff about how day dreaming can lead to me failing his class, but as he was talking a saw Kate walking in the hall with Brandon. Just Brandon. I said bye to Mr. Youngkin as he was speaking and ran after him and Kate. Pretty sure I'm getting a detention for that one.

Running up behind them, Kate turned around and laughed

K: "Why the heck are you running, class isn't even that far?"

M: " Just trying to catch up with Brandon over here. Sup buddy!" I lied

B: "Not much dude but I'm kinda in the middle of something, can you wait?" He groaned

When I opened my mouth to speak Lauren ran up to Brandon grabbed his hand and kissed him on the cheek. His whole attitude changed as Lauren and him skipped a head of us.  God has blessed me today.

K:"What did he bless you with?"

Crap I said that out loud.

Kate's POV.

On the way to second period I felt a tap on my back, it was Brandon.

B: "Hey Kate can I talk to you for a second?" He said putting his hand on my lower back

K:"Yeah of course." I said moving his hand back down to his side

B:"I'm going to br-"he was interrupted by Michael sprinting out of  Mr. Youngkin's class.

K:"Why the heck are you running, class isn't even that far?"

M:"Just trying to catch up with Brandon over here. Sup buddy!"

I knew he was lying. They despise each other.

B: "Not mumch dude but I'm kinda in the middle of something, can you wait?" He groaned

Not sure why he was so angry. Boys are weird.

Ahead of us I saw Lauren run up and kiss Brandon. They moved along through the hall just leaving Michael and I all to ourselves. It was silent for a solid minute before he muttered God has blessed me today.

K:"What did he bless you with?"

M:"I didn't mean to say that out loud. " he says putting his head down

K:"Is there something wrong?" I said concerned

M:"No...I just...um...well yeah."

K:"What's up?" I asked lifting his head up

M:"Brandon is trying to get with you and I feel bad for Lauren."

K:"Oh I know." I giggled " Lauren is breaking up with that fuzzboy. After he tried to get touchy with me and some other girls I drew the line." As I told him this his face grew red as a tomato.

M:"I can't believe that-" I cut him off before he cussed. "I'm gonna pound him to the ground." I was holding him back as he created a fist with his hands.

K:"Woah Woah Woah slow down Michael you must really like Lauren." I joked

Michael's face dropped immediately, he unclenched his fist, and the pressure pressed against my hands went away. For a second I thought he was going to walk away from me.

K:"I was kidding Michael."

Michael's POV.

Did Kate really just say that?

She thinks I like Lauren.

What have I done.

God please tell me that was a joke.

(Guys we're at 400 👀 that's honestly insane. I started this "book" at the beginning of this month and I haven't even published half. I'm truly thankful for every single person that's reading. I love you guys.❤️🎉)
