After reading his letter I go upstairs with my tea, which by now isn't really warm anymore. I put the letter on my desk and sit down on my bed and the thoughts about dad drift back.
I really need to talk to him when he gets back from work.
Ava is still asleep when I decide to get dressed and go the library to borrow the Harry Potter book. I don't have high hopes for the book but what hell does the word muggle mean? I really want to know and clearly Blake won't tell me.
I leave a note for Ava at the kitchen table downstairs in case she wakes up and doesn't know where I am.
I take my phone and my car key and go the garage to my car. When I get inside I throw my phone and house key on the passenger seat next to me and drive to the library.
The library in Austin is quite big so it takes me a while to find my way to the young adult fantasy section. I spot the book and take it out of the shelf. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
I hope it will be a good book.
I walk toward the exit and notice that it's actually pretty crowded in here and that usually means traffic.
As I'm driving my car I find out that the traffic isn't as bad as I expected it to be. Thank God. I stop at the last traffic light and wait for the traffic light to turn green, and then I go.
Just as I round the corner I see a car driving fast right in front of me.
