It's been a month since Michael seemingly left, and more importantly, the day that Ashton started ignoring Luke.
Jack decided to stay for a while longer (with his own apartment), finishing college online.
Luke ended up working at a small Claire's in a local mall, she too decided to finish high school online. Luke said she couldn't bear to see Ashton's face since the incident, just because she couldn't see see their face doesn't mean she don't walk the long way home just to see if Ash got home safely.

It was around six pm when Luke walked tiredly through the front door, Liz and her last child has been on odd terms since Michael left,

"Good evening."
Luke muttered

"How was work?"

"Well I guess good?"
Luke looked up
"How was your day?"

"The usual, but there was something I needed to talk to you about, come sit."
She patted the spot next to her

Luke came to sit next to her mother, immediately latching to her side.
Liz didn't mind, she appreciated it actually, she could feel the hurricane of emotions going on under Luke's skin.

"So Lukey, we're having someone over for dinner,"
Liz kissed her child's forehead, Luke humming in response.
"His name is David, he's bringing his son along too, he owns the real estate company that I'm looking into,"

"He has a shit name-but it sounds familiar."
Luke groaned

Liz chuckled,
"Go get showered and ready, he's gonna be here around seven-thirty."

"Yeah yeah"
They groaned as she sat up, walking over to the stairs as she checked her phone,

zen milk🍼: party, my house, 9:00.

Luke didn't even reply, she just ran faster up the stairs to pick out two outfits.

Her shower was quick, trailing behind the scent of mint body wash trailed behind her,
a pink sweater and black ripped jeans for the dinner and then a black and white plaid shirt along with the same jeans for the party.

Luke brushed her hair down, no quiff or anything, it looked like a pixie cut.
Thick black eyeliner and light contoured cheeks, she came down the stairs confident as ever, to a well set table in the fancy dining room that was normally off limits.

"Oh Lukey, you look beautiful."
Liz smiled sincerely. Luke eyed her mothers knee length, fitted, wine colored dress. Her natural toned smokey eye was set perfectly.

"Thank you mum, you look wonderful"
She returned the smile, before being asked to put the salad, dressings, and vinaigrettes on the table.

The sound of the doorbell erupted throughout the house,

"Lukey sit they're here."
Liz's nude heels clicked on the hard wood flooring as she rushed to the door.
As she opened the door a tall boy stood, with black hair all too familiar to Luke.

"Welcome, Calum right?"
Liz chirped

"Yes ma'am,"

"Great, the tables right over here,"
She used her arm to guide the tanned boy
"Your father's in the car I suppose?"

Calum just nodded, his eyes fixated on Luke, parting his lips to speak.

"This will be a fun night won't it?"
