We waited by the entrance eating sticky, pink candy floss for few minutes until we saw the arriving khaki coloured jeep covered with hundreds of stickers and metallic gadgets. Jake who sat at the driver's seat honked loudly causing several people to turn their heads in their direction. Nick jumped and came running towards us wearing a huge grin on his face. "Hey, buddy, you guys have come early." He said punching Adam's shoulder and giving me a toothy smile. Jake parked the vehicle and joined us within minutes giving a hello for me and another punch for Adam on the stomach. These people are surely thinking fellow humans as punching bags!

I don't know why these guys treat me as one of their friends. Beside my higher IQ we have several incompatible things between. I'm not their type at all. And they have no reason to keep company with someone normal (I mean, unpopular) like me. I'm not in the cheerleader squad or student governance.

By the way, did I mention Jake and Nick are twins? Not that type who share the same zygote, but the kind we call non-identical twins. They are pretty different from each other: Jake, the better looking one, had blond hair and blue eyes, and Nick had curly black hair and brown eyes. Not my type guys anyway.

I had two or three crushes back at my college, but pathetically they were never returned. They didn't show any interest in me, either they never noticed me or they never had any interest. I don't know exactly, because they were a little different from others. Don't get me wrong, they are not creatures like aliens. But, one of them is a nerd. Ok, stop laughing now. He's a very good looking nerd with beautiful eyes and long lashes and a dazzling smile. And he worked out regularly, not to impress girls like me for sure, but for his own health benefits. The thing is he rarely looked up from his books. And, he never noticed me. He was always busy with his similar (not the physical charm) friends planning a new kind of robot or discussing the latest CERN news. Seriously, CERN news! Or sometimes he was reading some book like Stephen Hawkins's "A Brief History of Time". Sure thing that my friends thought I'm nuts, showing an interest in the next Albert Einstein.

And the other one (my crush) is an artist. He is the college artist who always became handy when there are poster presentations etc.

I think he had never gone to a gym in his whole life, because he's the skinny type handsome. But he has a god like face and unfortunately never noticed me when I was stealing glances at him. Well, actually, everyone thought that he's a sort of a psychopath. Except me of course! Poor old Sue... Why do I have to have crushes on guys with some kind of freakiness?

"Welcome to the Wizztown carnivals! Whoopee!!!" shouted nick jumping happily. "Where do we go first?" He said in an exciting voice. What a kid! I thought taking a look around. There were several prettily coloured booths and tents with a number of games and food. "First, let's take a chance to see if we are lucky." Jake said dragging Adam towards a nearby booth with a game of 'a dime pitch'. Nick and I hurried behind them. Each of us took a chance of throwing a dime on the board with random marks with no luck. Next we headed to a high striker where I and Jake played and Jake could ring the bell and he got a stuffed giraffe as a gift! And sure, Jake gave me the toy. In no time, we were enjoying like a bunch of little kids. We played so many fun games, enjoyed rides and snacks too. The best thing was none of them made any disaster.

Adam and I were waiting for the other two when I felt someone was watching us. It was a weird feeling. I stopped munching a candy apple Adam bought from a nearby stall and looked around. People were busy enjoying the carnival with happy faces and smiling lips. Cheerful laughs were ringing all around. I couldn't see anyone looking at us or anyone with an out-of-place look, until I noticed a black haired young man, who seemed to have an East Asian descendence, glancing at our direction with dark eyes full of pure hatred. His ice cold gaze was piercing and his lips were pursed to a thin line. What's wrong with that guy, seriously? I looked behind if he's scowling at someone behind. But behind us was a back of a tent with no sign of another living being.
