"Hey, it's me Lisa." An excited voice yelled at my ear. I could imagine the twinkling eyes and the little heart shaped face of my only friend around here other than the twins. She was popular because her parents were a couple of rich business people and she was throwing parties whenever they were gone. Apart of being popular she was one of the rarely good hearted people among the popular gang.

"Oh, hi!" I replied with the same enthusiasm. Receiving a call from her after days means it's the party time. I have gone to one with Adam during my last stay.

"I met your cousin yesterday. He's the one who gave me the news. So, you can come to our place tonight. Mom and dad are going to Paris. It's their anniversary." She chirped happily.

"Cool" I said pretending to be excited. But in truth I was not much of a party person. Alright, now you think I'm a retard or something. But I really am not into parties. One reason is I'm terrible at dancing. Well, I haven't heard anyone saying that to my face, but I just know how good I'm at dancing compared to other kids. The other reason is I'm a complete teetotaller. Some of the guys pretended that they avoid drinks back at my high school only trying to impress me. In reality they got wasted when I was not around. Only my best friend Hanna knew my dislike. At times she covered for me when someone who is not much close to me invited me for a party and I wanted to skip that. I secretly thought that my dislike on mingling with others as a phobia. Although it's not that worse, if I remain like this, I'll surely develop that to a mental problem.

I did want to save myself, for that I have to meet new people. This is a huge opportunity.

I dived into the only bag I brought with me. I was pretty sure that I haven't got anything to wear for a party. After few seconds hunting a shimmering gray material caught my eyes. It was a pretty tank top which I usually wore with a pair of black leggings. "Finally I have something to wear," I sighed in relief.

I brushed my hair, letting it fall around the shoulders and put a little make up. Then I applied a thin coat of a glossy pink lipstick giving them a pouty look. Mascara and eyeliner was my all-time favourite. Hanna always commented that I didn't need mascara as I had long thick lashes. But now I'm used to it.

Adam offered me a ride as usual.

We got down by the elegant household of the Wilkins family where twenty or so young people were gathered already. As it was the semester end vacation, just after the tiring college exams, everyone seemed to be enjoying to the maximum. The sound of the DJ system was deafening and many were dancing. Few of them already had beers in their hands.

"Bradford has got a new girlfriend!" I heard someone shout among the people. And from somewhere else a wolf whistle followed. "That's his cousin Sue," I heard Lisa shout back before coming towards us.

"Hi," she greeted me with a hug, "come, I'll introduce you. You know some of them already, aren't you?" she dragged me by hand. I saw Adam joining with two guys.

"Hey, this is Sue!" she yelled to the crowd.

In no time I was laughing and chatting with some new girls I met, and to my own surprise I found myself enjoying.

Suddenly I felt someone was watching me. I looked around to see the person. Then I noticed a very familiar looking face of a boy surrounded by a group of girls. He had black hair and a pair of blue eyes. But instead of holding an innocent look like most blue eyed people do, they held a very cold gaze causing goose bumps.

I tried to remember where I had seen him before. He seemed to be quite popular among the girls with his dashing looks.

"Who's that guy over there?" I muttered to the girl next to me, a dark girl whom I got to know as Susannah.
