Cas sat on the hardwood floor, next to Gabe. They were in Benny's new apartment's empty living room with the rest of the band and Sam; hanging out. Sam was sitting on the other side of Gabe, and they were a bit too close for Dean's liking, but neither Sam nor Gabe seemed to care.

Dean was sitting on the floor too, right in front of Cas; and Benny was sitting next to him. "So how's your gap year going?" Benny asked Sam after Dean shifted uncomfortably. "Good," Sam replied. "But I'm starting law school next year and everyone says it gets harder each year," he added.

"I have something that gets harder each year-" "Oookay," Dean interrupted Gabe and stood up. Gabe and Sam smirked at each other and Cas leaned his head on the wall behind him, looking away from the boys and at Dean.

"Can you please, please not flirt with Sam? At least not when I'm around?" Dean begged. "Let me think about that... hmm..." Gabe scratched his chin. Then he shook his head, making Sam laugh.

"Why does it bother you so much?" Sam asked, smiling. Dean raised his hands, shrugged, and made a weird face. "Oh, I see..." Gabe said jokingly and earned a chuckle from Cas and Benny.

Cas thought about how less shy Sam was now and remembered when him and Gabe met. The band had just formed and they had only practiced six or seven times. Dean had had to go back home for the holidays; and when he had come back, he had brought Sam with him for a few days. They were gonna enter the new year (2014) together. On new year's eve, Dean had introduced his brother to everyone in the band, and Gabe had (of course) flirted mercilessly with him until he found out what age he was.

Sam was really shy (and cute, according to Gabe) at first but the more he hung out with Gabe, the more he had opened up and now, in September 2015, Sam was completely used to their flirting thing.

When Cas had asked Dean about why he was so against the thought of Gabe and Sam being together, Dean had told him that he would have to break Gabe's nose when he broke his heart. Cas had asked him how he knew Gabe would break Sam's heart, and Dean had responded with "I just do."

What Cas wasn't sure of was if Gabe really liked Sam or not. When Benny asked him about it, he shook his head and laughed, saying "He's just a kid." But the age difference wasn't that big and they seemed to get on really well. Cas would be sure Gabe liked him if he didn't flirt with so many people all the time.

Cas's thoughts were interrupted when Gabe put his hand on his shoulder to lean on as he stood up. "Where's the kitchen?" he asked Benny. "Over there, but there's nothing in there; not even a fridge," Benny answered. "I'll see that for myself," Gabe said and left, patting Dean's shoulder on his way. He was looking out the window.

Just then the front door unlocked, and Andrea entered the apartment. "Benny?" she shouted, and Benny shouted back. "I'm with the guys," he explained once she entered the room. She smiled at the band and Sam, looking tired. "Where's Gabe?" she asked after a second, and Gabe appeared behind her with a candy bar in his mouth.

"We should leave now," Sam said and stood up. "Yeah, good idea," Dean said, and winked at Benny before reaching out to hold Cas's hand. He helped him get up off the floor.

"Great seeing you Andrea, you've lost weight," Gabe said with his usual smirk, then turned around. He opened the apartment's door for Sam, acting like a gentleman.

Soon, they were all in the car listening to Dean sing along to really loud AC/DC. Sam was showing something to Gabe on his phone in the backseat, and Cas was sitting on the passenger seat with his head leaning on the car wall, watching the sun set and just listening.

"Come on Sammy, you used to love this song!" Dean said, looking at his brother from the rearview mirror. Sam laughed and tried to sing, but his voice was so bad that everyone (including Cas) laughed out loud. He was clearly singing badly on purpose.
