Chapter 5: From Bad to Worse

EAST RIVER BANK, 11:50 Pm, July 23rd 2013

Murdoch panted with exasperation when the van he had attached himself to finally stopped. He shook his head and brushed the bug splatter from his face...and swore to himself that the next time that shadow knight gets an idea like this... he would claw his... Murdoch stopped thinking, and then watched as the doors of the van opened.

He remained silent and watched as the Made-Men and Gravitron entered the bank through the back door...after Gravitron had ripped the door off its hinges with his power.

"Couldn't we have gone in through the front door?" asked Del.

Gravitron looked at Del, a smirk on his face "what...and ruin the surprise for the dumb night guard shift inside?"

"Good point" Del said.

And with that the dangerous teens entered the bank... and Murdoch, knowing where he was due to his unique sense of direction, vanished via Teleportation to find the heroes legion and bring them here before something terrible happened!

Ten minutes later...

Gravitron watched as the others plundered the bank vault that he had pried open with his power, and then he stole a glance at Julie before turning his attention to the guards he had pinned on the ceiling above him.

The look of surprised terror on their faces looked rather amusing to Martin Beck.

He then decided to return to the job at hand, and by projecting a field of anti-gravity around the plastic bills, floated the bills across the way, out the door and into the van waiting outside.

Shelia and Julie came by with a lead box, Julie looked concerned.

Gravitron noticed, "What's the problem babe?"

"We found this in the safety deposit room...we think it was planted" Julie answered, and she opened the box "Look what's inside"

Gravitron looked inside and to his surprise found another one of those "blue crystal that give you superpowers" thingy's!

What was that doing in a safety deposit box?

"What does this mean?" wondered Shawn.

"Nothing, that's what it means... Now let's get the rest of the cash loaded before..." just as if on cue there was suddenly flash of light, followed by a plume of purple smoke.

The purple smoke enveloped the room in seconds. Martin Beck could hardly see past his own nose it was so thick.

Gravitron then put up a shield surrounding him and Julie, anticipating a surprise attack in the purple smoke.

He suspected that they had been found by those freaks from the mall again.

He heard the sounds of the others being taken down, again....probably by that same "disappearing" guy in that jean jacket getup who had laid them low back at the mall.

Once the purple smoke had cleared, Gravitron and Julie looked round and found themselves surrounded by the fallen members of the Made-men.

It was looking like a re-run of last time.

There at the other end of the room were those guys and gals from the mall...the jean jacket wearing one was holding the safety deposit box!

He must have grabbed it during the confusion as he was knocking the other made-men out cold!

"Well, how about that!" Velocity said admiring the box's contents, "I think I just won the "wack-a-super crook" prize! One M-50 crystal...belonging to a...." he read the side of the box, "Mr. Clyde Jerkins?! The art galleria guy? You've got to be kidding me!"
