Waking up the next morning, I heard steps being taken up the stairs. Someone gently knocked on my door.
"Who is it?" I asked tiredly.
Opening the door, in came my sister, Silla, "Sissy! I feel like I haven't seen you in forever!" I jumped up and gently gave her a long hug. Holding back my tears from everything going on, and the overwhelming emotions surfacing. My thin, pale arms wrapped around her, as far as they could go. My body slightly hung around her baby belly.
"I've missed you so much, Anna. It's been a few months since I last saw you. You're growing up, and I never thought I'd miss seeing it, but I do. I miss everything about this town, and my family." After a brief pause, she continued. "Although, I never thought someone would move into that old house by the lake. Hmm, strange things keep happening." New neighbors, weird.
"It's great to see you, sis. Are Daniel and Jacob here, too?" I walked over to my closet too find my clothes for the day.
"Yep! We just got here a few minutes ago, we saw mom, and had a quick chat. By quick, I mean less then five minutes and she had a clipped tone of voice. Phew, glad I got out quick." She said in a slightly sarcastic voice. But, I knew the truth in that sentence. I pulled out a t-shirt with a funny comment on it and some ripped blue jeans.
"That looks okay for a weekend at home."
"Who said that I'm staying home this weekend?" I have her a mocking smile.
"Your dear sister, who loves you very much, and wants too spend the weekend catching up!" We both laughed at her statement.
"Fine, I'll stay home. I was just teasing a bit, you know." I started walking into the bathroom that connected too my room. "I'm gonna take a shower and get dressed. See ya in a little bit."
"Okay, try not too sneak out the window! I'll tell Jacob that you didn't want too see him." I looked at her shocked.
"But, you would hurt his feelings, and lie to him. I promise not too sneak out. Even though that is Rachael's thing too do."I huffed at the end.
"Be nice to her. What happened affected us all, we need time too heal from the wounds, and do it in our own way." She had grown the most out of all of us.
"Trust me, I know all of that. I have a new problem with her ways now." Beginning to feel grumpy, I pushed my feeling down a bit. Sil, doesn't need to know about the drama going on.
"After your shower, we'll talk about it. Maybe we can find a solution for it...all of it."
"If you say so, I'll try. But, I doubt anything can change her right now. See you in the family room." She exited my room, knowing that was my goodbye.
I turned on the shower, trying too find the perfect temperature for myself.

An hour later, I walked downstairs and suddenly got hugged by a little monster. "Auntie A! I missed you!" I let out the biggest smile in months and hugged my nephew with love. "I've missed you, too. How's my little love bug doing?"
I saw him smile real big and noticed a missing tooth. "I grew up! Mommy says I'm her little man, but, I'm not little. Daddy said I grew a few inches. How much is an inch?" He curiously asked me. I pulled my sleeve up from my hands and told him my thumb pad is about an inch long.
"That's not a lot." He pouted at him. Frowning now, cause he looked so adoringly cute. "Don't worry, bug. Someday, you'll be as tall as your daddy!" I smiled as his pout was gone.
"Lets go see what your momma and daddy are up too." We walked into the kitchen, where I guessed they would be. My lovely sister wore an apron that said 'Kiss the cook, I'm Irish'. I picked up Jacob into the stool. Laughing, I walked up to my sister and kissed her cheek.
