What have I done? Those words haunted me as I flew back. When I went back she was eating. No matter what she said, I heard those same four words. What have I done? What have I done? Those words plagued my head. When she got up many hours later, they became a song. What have I done? What have I done.
Annamarie had her writing class at around twelve. John was outside of the window the whole time. I could tell that he planned on killing her at the building.
"Why are you killing her at the building?" I went over.
"I would have to find someone else to possess. James has his person." he shot back.
John flew away. He seemed to be heading to the detective building. I sat against the wall. What have I done? I couldn't hear anything else. I was scared. Nothing could prepare me for this. Annamarie came back.
"I'm going to the building," she clued in.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. I have everything set up."
I watched her pack her bag. A part of a metal pole was put into the bag. I couldn't have worried more in my afterlife. Each step she took I worried even more. With each step I heard you sentenced her to her death. She is a dead girl walking.
Slowly she made it to the building. She walked to the investigation room. "Alex" sat in a chair waiting. John was laying on the ceiling.
"Hello Annamarie," James said, his true voice being heard more in every syllable.
"Hello James," she greeted.
"So he told you?"
"No. I am just not stupid. If you want a fight let's go."
"Challenged accepted."
James stood with Alex's body. He charged Annamarie. The knife just barely touched her head, as she dodged. Hairs were cut. Annamarie drew out her pole, and whacked James in the stomach. James and Annamarie went on with the fight. This went on for almost two minutes, before James had Annamarie pinned to the ground.
"Your time is done little girl. Demons can't be exploited for their deeds by a mere human.," James bellowed with his layered, demonic voice. He lifted the knife over her head.
"Stop!" came a loud voice.
Everyone turned their heads. In the door frame stood a priest. He started to chant words. An exorcism. I have always wanted to see these two demons get exorcised.
That was my wish. My wish. Then I realized my wish. I realized what kept me on earth. My wish. My wish to see James and John gone forever. My wish to see them suffer. That was my wish. I heard the angels.
"Five minutes until a new arrival," they playfully taunted.
I was spacing out. Annamarie had thanked the exorcist for his work. She was at the head's office.. I flew quickly to there.
"Well," he admitted,"A deal is a deal."
"Thank you so much," she rejoiced.
"Don't think it is just because of our deal," he warned,"I am doing it because I could see the demon in her as well. If it was a normal case I would need three pieces of evidence Now go run along now. Your friend wants to talk to you."
Annamarie walked out of the building. She walked to some trees.
"Ciel I did it," she reported.
"Annamarie." I looked at her. I couldn't say it. I couldn't.
"Yeah?"
"I am going to miss you so much. I have watched you grow up. I am going to the heavens. My wish was granted."
She looked at me. Her face was low. The tears she didn't let go a few days ago all came out. She fell to her knees.
"You can't go," she wailed,"You can't. You were like the father I never had. you can't. You always made sure I was okay. You made sure I didn't do stupid things. That I wasn't possessed" She burst out in tears. She couldn't say anything else.
"I'm sorry Annamarie. My time is up. Stay strong. Remember. You will be like Sherlock Holmes one day."
Her tears flowed harder.
I started to get pulled to the heavens. I felt her hand touch mine. She tried to pull me down, but I flew up. She watched me go until she couldn't see me.
That was the last I saw of Annamarie.
