High school was years ago, yet there was one person I still stayed in contact with. And although we did go our separate ways in many aspects, we somehow managed to have lunch at least once a year at the same place, the Soho House.
"Excuse me, I'm vegan. There is honey on here," she flagged down the nearest waiter and complained.
He looked at her dish, apologized and promised her that she would get the same dish but without honey.
"What?" she looked at me and rolled her eyes.
It was my turn to roll my eyes and scoff at her, "Vegan?"
"I'm trying it out," she said sheepishly.
There was no doubt in my mind that her new "vegan" trend was in result of a new fling. Madison was one of those girls who molded herself for someone.
"Who is it?" I rolled my eyes and took the bait.
"Oh gosh, he's amazing. His name is Robert and he's a personal trainer. I met him at my gym and he asked me out a week later. I think I might be falling for him, Jess; I think he's the one," she rambled on about how amazing her Robert was. Then she proceeded to ramble on about how they went into Tiffany's one day and saw this beautiful ring and she tried it on, and Robert thought it was beautiful on her, too. It was truly meant to be.
After not getting the response that she wanted, Madison kept going on about how sweet Robert was, and how he did so many things for her. I just bobbed my head along to show her that I was listening.
"Jess?" an all-too familiar voice called out my name.
"Harry," I said as I gave him a polite tight-lipped smile.
"Harry Styles," Madison slyly said his name as she slyly gave him one of her foxy looks.
"Hi," he offered her hand for her to shake and she immediately took it.
"Madison Harper," she smiled at him.
"How are you doing?" he asked with his full attention geared towards her.
And she loved it, she loved that Harry Styles was giving her his undivided attention.
"I'm doing fabulously, how are you?" she laughed what sounded maniacal to me, but probably throaty and sexy to her.
"I'm doing very well. Madison, would you mind if I borrowed Jess for a minute, I promise to bring her back," he said suavely.
Damn that suave.
"Of course," she said coquettishly.
Harry stood next to me and directed me to a more secluded area.
"What's up?" I tried playing cool, but was probably failing miserably.
"How are you?" he said as he placed his hand on the small of my back.
"I'm good," I said with a small blush because of his contact. "How are you?"
"I'm better now that I've seen you," he said with his damn smooth voice of his. "I've been worried."
"No need to be worried, I'm dandy," I flashed him an awkward smile.
"Can we do dinner tonight?" Harry asked with his green eyes staring deeply into my soul. "Unless you have plans."
