~~~~~Chapter 1: Don't Worry, be Happy~~~~~
It's dark, I hear a cry, like a baby, crying...the noise is gradually coming closer, and closer, and closer. Its very loud now, I turn around, its the back of a baby, and turns around, IT'S AN HIDEOUS FACE OF A WOMAN! Arrggghhhh! I'm awoken by the sound of the pouring rain, still shaken from the dream again. I don't know what this dream is trying to tell me, I'm curious on what's coming for me.
It's raining again. Stuck with the unpleasant smell of the leftover meatloaf from two weeks ago. Everyday is the same, raining or sunny, do chores or get struck by the household cane and don't even start about the nightmares I continuously have at night.
Hi, my name is Marie Thompson, I am 14 years old and stay at Edenburry Orphanage for girls and haven't been adopted yet, which isn't a surprise for the Head Mistress of the orphanage Madam Fromage, and yes, i know fromage is cheese in french, my best friend Rosia, she is 14 as well, she always thinks about calling Madam Fromage, Madam Cheese, but thats never gonna happen. Alright back to me, I have thick and curly brown hair and not anymore interesting than the stench of meatloaf i was talking about before.
Furthermore, the day was ordinary, and the reason why I said that is because once again, Madam Fromage gathered all the girls again! "Alright, who has thrown wet toilet paper on the ceiling again?!" asked Madam Fromage furiously, "I DEMAND AN ANSWER, NOW!" Everyone is shaken, but of course it has got to be the foreign girls all the way from California. Its been the fifth time in a row since this incident has happened this week. Madam Fromage announced that if she didn't get any answers, everyone had to do bootcamp for the rest of the day, but thats another story.
As I walk back to my room with my best friend Rosia, we started talking about how annoying our lives are, and wishing we were adopted, or that we would be sisters. "Gosh, I think Madam Cheese needs to take a chill pill, can't believe she will send us to bootcamp again!" said Rosia, angrily. "Rosia, your the one that says to me, don't worry, be happy!" I start giving her this look that she doesn't seem to like. "Hey well it's true, but I reckon that she needs to start being considerate of others and stop being a block of cheese!"Rosia protests. I don't understand what she means by 'a block of cheese' but I laughed anyway. Rosia is my one and only friend, and that's why I smile everyday and not worry, but feel positive.
