~~~~~Chapter 13: Possessed~~~~~
I feel a sudden force, throwing me and tumbling to the ground. I push myself up. "Is that all you've got?" I ask, trying to sound firm, but calm at the same time. A chair gets throw at my direction, i miss it by inches, and crashes with a loud thud on the hard wall. I hear footsteps coming up the stairs. "Marie, what are you doing?" I hear dad asking. I feel a sudden scratch on my neck. "Ow!" I scream. I hear the same evil laugh. A piece of paper comes up, and says in big bloody red text: YOU WANT MORE? I smile, thinking to myself, YOU BET! I felt a rush of adrenaline, bravery, courage. I don't hear my dad's footsteps anymore. My eyes widen. "DAD!" I yell. I rush out the door, but get thrown backwards, crashing into a wall. "LEAVE HIM ALONE!!" I say, feeling the pain on my back, throbbing. On the wall, it says: OH, BUT I WON'T STOP UNTIL THE PROMISE, IS A PROMISE! I sigh. A big, slow sigh. "Fine, but if you harm anyone close to me, it is DEFINITELY OFF." I say. I feel something on my hand, soft but small, and slowly shook my hand. I knew it was from the Infant.
"DAD!" I say, happily. "What's all the excitement, I was just doing some paperwork."dad replies. I smile. I walk back to my room, but thought to my self, how come dad isn't hurt? I mean, sure, that's a good thing but I knew I had a feeling back there, like something was wrong. I feel that Maggs is in danger though, and I have got to find out.
The following morning, the birds don't chirp, I hear the rain, hitting the ground, the trees and the surrounding houses. I look at my arm, the scratch is GONE! Vanished, disappeared. I don't get it, first it was bloody, then it was all black and veiny and then it disappears, without a trace. I feel my neck, it's lumpy, and I look at my fingers to find blood on my finger tips. My neck starts throbbing. I scrunch my fist to tolerate the pain. I get up, get dressed and go down stairs to eat breakfast. I rush to school on time, and see Miranda in front of the school gate. "Miranda, over here!" i shout, giving her a wave. She comes over. "Marie, good to see ya, I was waiting for you." she says, with a big grin on her face. We go into the school grounds and sit down. I just had to tell her. Sarah and Tracy aren't here, so I'm going to trust Miranda and tell her the horrible truth. "Miranda, I need to tell you a deep, dark secret, I trust you as my loyal friend, even though I have only known you for 2 days, I trust you on this, cool?" I ask, trying to gain her trust. She nods in agreement, with a serious face that I haven't ever seen from her before.
"Miranda, I am being haunted by the Infant."I say, simply. Miranda gives me a look, of confusion. "Yeah that's right, haunted, and I have no evidence but I am telling you, the Infant has been haunting me for a LONG time."I explain to her. "Marie, I believe you." Miranda says, surprisingly. I smile, I knew I could trust her on this. I explain to her about the signs, the nightmares, the foreign girls predictions and the sounds I have heard, oh, let's not forget about my name all over the building.
Miranda is coming to my place after school. When the school bell rang, we headed off home. We ended up walking home, but it wasn't raining anymore, but still cloudy. I show her the building, the building wasn't covered in my name anymore. Instead, blood was leaking from the windows, Miranda had a scared look on her face. All of a sudden, Miranda start blocking her ears for no reason. I ask her what's wrong. She looks up, with a possessed face. She looks straight into my eyes. Then she has an evil smile on her face. "So, you really think telling someone about this would save you?" she starts laughing horrendously. I just look at her. "You!" I say, noticing that the Infant has possessed Miranda. "Yeah, it's me, surprise!" she says, still as happy as ever. "Hey, leave my friend alone, she is close to me, and you promised not to hurt anyone close to me." I explain.
"Being human feels nice, I'm keeping her for awhile, so then I can communicate with you easily." Convincing, not really, but I didn't bother refusing. It creeped me out. The so-called Infant was actually human. Instead of beautiful hazel eyes that Miranda had, her eyes were now blood red.
"So, READY TO HELP ME." she looked through my bedroom window when I was about to fall asleep. I thought to myself, what if a girl, with red eyes, stared at your bedroom window, and smiling like they had a plot to complete, was staring at you write now. LOOK AT YOUR WINDOW, and more AWAITS...
