~~~~~Chapter 5: The end of the beginning~~~~~
Ok, so if the three foreign girls have fortune telling powers, doesn't that mean that my future is almost in the hands of the girls? Is the dream related to my future? Questions spin in my mind. "Ok, let me get things straight, you're saying you can tell the future?" I ask, thinking that this is a joke. "I guess you could say that, but we more look at your fortune, not too much in depth of the future." they respond. Ok, CONFUSION! "O.kay...ummm, so how about a bit of fortune telling?" I try to bribe but they immediately accept. If they knew about my dreams, surely they can dig deeper into what's going to happen in my future. Alright, so the girls drag me to their room, close the door tightly and ask me to hold my palms up. As i do so, their eyes creepily change from hazel to purple. 2 of the girls hold each of my palms, and as I look into there eyes, they have a very possessed look on their face.
"I see you're new family, happy, laughing,"the girl starts "Then, you're standing beside them, looking scared and uncomfortable." Ok starting to get scared. "I see a window, an abandoned building, and you, looking out the window at the building." The other girl says. "I hear a cry, a baby cry, getting louder...and louder...and, ARGH! One of the girls scream and... snap, their back to their normal selves, hazel eyes, COMPLETELY normal. "Well?" I ask. "That's it?" Wow, that was intense! That is SO scary, I can't think about anything other than what the girls said. Everything they said, the family being happy, me feeling sad, the window, the abandoned building and THE CRY! This is all starting to make sense.
Gosh, my last few hours in the orphanage is quite emotional. Once again, Rosia is hugging me tightly, and balling her eyes out. "PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME!" she cries, with puffed eyes. I couldn't stay at the orphanage, this is a once in a life time chance! I couldn't stay in the smelly, stuffy place any longer. "I'm sorry Rosia, but I have to leave you, this is my chance to live a normal life, trust me, one day, the same will happen to you!" I say, trying to pull a promising look. "I know, but seeing you go is the last thing I want to see." she replies. I fall silent. I had nothing to say when she said that.
My family has arrived, I meet them. They seem like a great couple, they even have a small 2 year old girl, she is REALLY cute. The family kind of looks like me. Brown hair, hazel eyes, the PERFECT family. So my so called 'parents' talked to Madam Fromage for awhile, and as they start a new conversation, I hear Mr Corte pick up the fact that Fromage means cheese in french. Madam Fromage starts making a serious glare at Mr Corte, he immediately stops talking. Rosia was standing right beside me and seemed to hear what Mr Corte did too, Rosia giggled loudly for the first time since the day I got the letter for adoption. I smiled and started giggling as well. I know that this family is definitely right for me. They talked for half an hour, but felt like 2 minutes. I said my farewells, tried to let go of Rosia, and went out the door of Edenburry Orphanage for girls. I had tears all down my face, I felt horrible, but over joyed at the same time. Mrs Corte hugged me tight and added "This is it, but it's a new beginning for you, which you should be happy about." That made me feel better. The Cortes and I hopped in the car, and off we went.York here I come!
Wow, what a fine house. The house was a three story mansion, but was all made of bricks, a great backyard with a small pond flowing through, with japanese koi happily swimming with the flow of the pond. There was 7 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a living room, a rumpus, study, gym, family room and kitchen and dining. The mansion itself was big than the orphanage. I had a tour around the house with Mr Corte. We talked about all the wonders in life, like what our purpose was in this world. Mr Corte really understood my feelings. I then played princesses with little Amy. I didn't know playing princesses with a 2 year old was so fun. Even though it was a type of thing I have never done before, it was quite an experience. After, I went with Mrs Corte to the local supermarket down the road. We went grocery shopping for dinner. I hadn't done that ever in my life either, it was a great experience. We both decided to eat Lasagne for dinner. It was great to work with Mrs Corte in the kitchen. I learnt how to make lasagne and it smelt, and tasted delicious.
By the end of the day, I was in one of the biggest rooms in the place. It had everything I ever wanted. A desk, Laptop, mini screen television, queen size bed, chandelier, a pink rug, a small couch, a walk in closet and a shelf full of books.
I was beginning to have a very deep sleep on the plush pillows and firmly soft bed until my door opens wide open. I stare through the darkness to see a small dark figure standing at the door. I stare in fright as the figure walks closer to me. While the figure walks forward, it switches on the light and I was about to scream when little Amy shakes in fright. I stare at her in surprise. "Marie?" Amy asks.
