Mason's P.O.V
I kissed her! I fucking kissed her! Oh my gosh, I kissed her! I kissed Bethany. Wait, was this moving to fast she has been here only for a month. Beth is different, she isn't like other girls.
I was walking really confidently into my house when I saw dad on the couch and Emma ran past him so fast. It broke my heart how scared she was.
My dad looked up and gave me a glare and I moved a bit faster. I was greeted by Emma crying. I didn't understand why but then I saw her holding her doll mum gave us before she, left.
" Daddy broke mummy's present," She cried.
I could feel my heart break into a million pieces.
" It's okay, she will get you new one!" I say, lying.
" She doesn't get out until four years!" She sobbed.
I wrapped her into a hug and picked up her doll. She cried softly into my shoulder.
" You are a fucking whimp!" Dad exclaimed while standing at the door.
" Leave her alone fuckwit!"
Shit, what did I just do.
He knelt down to my level and bitch slapped me across my face. Let go of Emma and hold my face where he had hit. He took Emma from me and started to hit her. The sounds of her cries were deafening.

I wake up with Emma in my arms. She had a big bruised arm. I moved slightly and she flinched. A tear rolls down my cheek. She is in so much pain. I wake her up softly.
" You can stay home if you want. I'll lock you in here with Luna."
She nods and falls back to sleep. I prepare some food and water and bring it in our room. Luna follows insider. I get some cream and rub it softly into her arm and she whimpers in pain.
" Don't think about it," I say.
After I finish and I tend to the cut I got from pushing dad out of the bedroom door.

Jace gives me a sad look.
" Dude, call the fucking police!" He said.
" Jace, it's, fine. I want to stay with Emma."
" I don't want you to get hurt."
" Jace, it's good to know that you care but can we change the subject?"
Jace rolls his eyes and starts talking about football.
But then I saw her. It was like, I blocked everything out and Beth was the only thing o was focusing on.
" Go ask her out!" Jace says interrupting my thoughts.
" Huh?"
" You kissed her, go ask her out."
" U-Um okay."
I straighten out my clothes and ran my hand through my hair. I walked up to Beth and as soon as she laid eyes on my she smiled.
" Hey," she beamed.
" Hey," I start," I was wondering if you could um, maybe you would like to, maybe if you wanted too."
Wow, way to go Mason.
" Maybe you wanted to go on a date?" I finally said.
" A date?" Shit, you've blown it.
" Sure! Here is my number!" She said, handing me her number.
I smiled stupidly as I walked towards Jace. He wiggled his eyebrows and I laughed.
" I've got a date!"
