Abhishek's POV
I must get those keys any how today before that I must speak to her. I knocked on her grey color door twice and the reply was immediate. Once I entered saw her busily typing on her desktop. She is wearing thick rimmed black frame glasses her lids casted down showing her perfectly thick lashes definitely not fake.
Light pink shirt with signature style hair made in to a big bun under clutch. As usual no make up. Her table is well organized. Spotless very clean and glossy. Nothing personal very professional place with work related quite impressive. What is it Swetha? If you have come just to stare at my office get out and don't waste my time Prakruthi said still busy working on her I Mac. If you really know the value of time then you should surely know not to waste others potential time, questioned catching her attention. Or else are you too self centered to ignore others priorities. Now I got it so this is how you achieved all those I said showing the display behind her with achievements.
What do you mean? She asked. I mean by dominating others. Grabbing opportunity from others. Suppressing talent. Slowly it dawned on her what I meant. Her eyes popped out for a second which clearly explains that this kind of thing never even crossed her mind. For a minute she forgot about her facade and gave the look saying how can someone think so low.
She was back to her cold self, think as you wish I am least bothered, she countered. How much ever you try, you will not succeed.
So you better get out of my office I don't want any interference in my venture, she yells. I told you already I can handle this whole project on my own without any architects help.Wow don't you have anything else to say I am bored to listen the same from you say something new.
Prakruthi spats, shut up and get lost by gesturing me towards the door. By now she is standing near her desk.Instead of showing my self out I kept walking towards her once stood just an inch away from her, I know you are wearing a facade on your original self. This anger, stubbornness , cold attitude , not to speak to people are all an act to make everyone hate and leave you alone.
For once I saw something flickered but soon she recovered, wow she can't even act. before she could speak I changed the topic saying by the way you can shut me up either with your fingers on my lips or with your lips. Choice is yours.
She left a gasp and became stiff. I am sure no one spoke to her like that before because I saw her cheeks they ware pink. Her face was priceless so I left the room with a satisfied smile on my face. I am enjoying this. Catching her off guard is even more fun.
I dressed in a casual white shirt paired up with a blue jeans. Shirt is clinging to my body I think work outs have paid off. Bought some dry fruits and nuts for Mrs. Rao. I finally reached Mr.Rao's house around 8pm.
It's a beautiful house with three floors. There is garden to the left side of the path way and parking space on the other side. There are 3 cars all are of fancy numbers. I parked my car and walked towards main door.
Before I could reach the front door both Mr and Mrs Rao gave me a warm welcome with smiles. I took both their blessings by touching feet. Throughout the dinner my eyes were searching for Prakruthi. Food is amazing I complemented Mrs. Rao she is reserved and shy type. Later we moved in to drawing room were Mrs Rao left us alone.
Mr. Rao spoke about my dad and their stories which I heard numerous times from my parents but I did not complain. I know you must be irritated with my daughter's behavior he said. Before he could apologize I cut him. Mr.Rao if you don't mind can I know what happened to Prakruthi. I can surely say that she is just pretending herself why is she hiding behind a facade?
Don't be formal you can call be uncle now. It's a long story but since you have understood her so well in just few days I wish to tell you what happened to her.
We fell in to a comfortable silence both of us sitting on opposite sofas. Uncle staring in to space. Suddenly he started my girl Prakruthi is my pride. Any other child with wealth in her place might have been spoiled but my apple, sorry that's her nickname at home which she hates. She is a gem. Best in studies, she never failed me in any matter.
She never complained about anything, she was very happy, matured, loving, caring and you won't believe mischievous too though only with close people. I am very close to her we both can read our minds very easily. She shares every tiny bit of information of her life with me. So I knew that she never even had a crush on anyone.
The guy I thought will be perfect match for my daughter is from a reputed family. His name is Madhunandhan at the age of 25 he took his family business under his control. His mother saw Apple in a common friends wedding and they sent the proposal. I enquired about the family and the groom it was a positive response. Like a friend I asked Prakruthi's opinion she said daddy I believe any decision you take will be in my best interest. Do whatever you feel is right for me.
And I took the worst decision of marrying my daughter in to that family. A tear slid down his cheek which spoke volumes. First few months she kept calling me regularly and she sounded happy. I am very possessive about her. Didn't want to be a trouble maker in her life. They lived in Bangalore. I started missing her terribly so I kept my self busy by burying deep in to business. Slowly days turned in to months and months in to almost 2 and a half years suddenly one day she came home.
Prakruthi was standing in front of me without luggage and no one was accompanying her. She never traveled alone. That's when for the first time I felt that I lost my daughter. She is not looking the same anymore she lost weight. She looked as if she lost everything in her life. Only pain was seen in her eyes.
First thing she asked me in life was divorce from her husband. I know my daughter she will never ask out of marriage just like, she might have went through so much. She neither told us the reason for divorce nor what exactly happened. Up on courts request we had to consult a physiatrist. That doctor told us few shocking facts about my girl. She was mentally and physically abused.
At 10.30pm I started from Mr. Rao's house. He is feeling guilty. He blames himself for what ever has happened to his daughter. This time instead of a strong business man I saw a failed father in him.
