AMANDA'S POV
I woke up to the feeling of a softness trailing down my cheek. My eyes refused to open and I sighed. My body was relaxed and the bed was warm.
"Amanda, get up." Dustin's sultry voice floated through my ears and I felt his hit breath on the hollow below my ear. "Come on babe." His fingers glided against my arms and I shivered lightly.
I mumbled a few incoherent words and snuggled deeper into the blankets. "Why?"
"It's a special day. I have something planned for us." He bit gently on my earlobe and my eyes slowly blink open.
"Why is today special? If it was so special, I would still be sleeping." I groaned.
"Get up lazy bones. I'm making today perfect and you aren't about to ruin it." His calloused fingers caressed my cheek and I sighed in content.
Light suddenly flooded the room and I screamed. "Too bright!" I covered my face with my hands and sat up. Glaring at Dustin, I chucked a pillow at him angrily. "Why would you do such a cruel thing?" I pouted.
He ran over to me and scooped me up in his arms, causing me to let out a squeal of surprise. "Because you would be a cruel person if you slept all day and wasted my months of planning."
I sighed. "Okay okay. I'll get up but this better be worth it." I pointed my finger at him, then shooed him out if his own room.
Yes. His own room.
After the incident about a month or so ago, I had officially moved in with Dustin. He said it was to protect me but I knew he just wanted to be close to me. I was fine with that. All of my clothes and things were here, taking up less than half the closet space and the dresser. There were pictures of Dustin, brody, aiden, zach, and Claire spread all around the room. There were a couple of me too but it was mostly of pictures I had taken of my friends.
I casted a look at the house next door. The pale paint peeling off the rickety wood. The overgrown weeds surrounding the house. The boarded up windows. The emptiness of it. Duayin had told mr my father moved away after the incident. The haunting vibe it gave off.
I shook my head and got dressed in a cute white dress with one of Dustin's many leather jackets and some brown boots. Dustin finally got me to start embracing myself and not letting my scars affect the way I dress or who I am. I still felt pretty self consious when I went to the beach with him, but it was less than before.
That boy has changed me. And I love him for that.
I walked down the stairs and am greeted with the smell of bacon and pancakes. Aiden and Claire are sitting at the table while Brody raided the fridge, Dustin at the stove flipping pancakes.
"Hey guys," I smiled and they all waved back.
"Look who's looking snazzy today." Brody winked at me.
"Hey babe." Dustin kisses the top of my head and slid an oddly deformed pancake onto my plate.
"Uh... this is a pancake right?" I asked him cautiously.
"Yup."
"Then why is it pink and all deformed," I asked, causing him to blush.
"Well..." he began, scratching the back of his neck nervously. "It's a...." He mumbled quietly, dropping off at the end.
"Its a what?"
"A heart." The pancake was almost as pink almost his cheeks were. "Its kind of our two month anniversary and we kinda missed valentine's day."
