CLICK THE STAR

Amanda's POV

As soon as the door shut, we were off, cruising down the street comfortably in the limo Dustin had rented. Aiden and Claire sat across from us while Brody and Zach were to my left enjoying the mini bar.

"Um... isn't it illegal to drink?" I pointed out and they shrugged.

"Come on little Amanda. Join the adult world. Lighten up, you'll be having alcohol too by the end of the night. Live a little." Brody reprimanded me and drained a shot of amber liquid.

I wrinkled my nose when he shoved one by my face. "It's not healthy. And it smells disgusting." I leaned back into the velvety seats and Dustin threw an arm over my shoulder. "If you're in the adult world I pray for the children. Think of the role model you set for them." I shook my head at him and smirked. I was slowly becoming confident in this little circle of... people and I was finally cracking jokes.

Sort of.

Dustin laughed and Brody gave him a look. "I happen to be a very good role model for the children. I am always nice and caring. I am very mature." He crossed his arms and pouted at us.

"Very mature," Aiden agreed and rolled his eyes.

"Thank you! At least someone knows my talent and worthyness of being... of being..." he searches for a word. "The ruler of the awesomes." He nodded firmly.

Zach smacked him upside the head. "Shut up. You're killing our braincells."

"You're just jealous because I have braincells to kill off and you don't." Brody muttered defensively.

"That's because you killed them all."

The ride couldn't have lasted more than ten minutes but with this crew, it felt like hours. I was okay with that though. It was fun and relaxing being with a bunch of friends.

The driver pulled down the visor that separated us when we got to the school building. "We're here. You kids have fun and don't do anything illegal. Got it?" He winked at us and drove off.

"Why is the dance at the school?" I asked Claire and she nudged me to walk.

"Because they're too cheap to rent out a place and they think they can cram over a thousand kids in the gym." She walked faster to catch up to Aiden, who was patiently waiting for her to approach her. He stuck his hand out and she took it, weaving their fingers together and walking towards the school entrance.

I stopped walking, making Dustin bump into me. "You okay?" He annoyed, looking at me concerned. Aiden and Claire had stopped walking while Brody and Zach were long gone inside that dancing hole. He waved them on and they walked in the building, shooting one last glance at us.

"Um... yeah?" I asked.

"No you're not. You're shaking." I looked down and saw what he said was true. They were shaking really bad. He gently grabbed my hands and looked at me. "What's wrong?"

"Its... it's my first..." I faltered and looked at the ground. "It's my first dance." I whispered quietly, so quietly I could barely hear myself.

Somehow, Dustin had heard me.

"Baby that's okay. There's nothing to be worried about. I'll be with you the whole time. I won't leave your side." He vowed and squeezed my hands.

I bit my lip. "Promise?"

"I'll promise anything for you Amanda. Anything." He pulled me into a hug and started to walk us to the door.

"Okay," he pulled my hand and we walked into the gym, our hands tangled together.
