Amanda's POV

I woke up to birds chirping. Literally. The sunlight kept dancing in my face, annoying the crap out of me. I opened my eyes and saw dead leaves and bits of white flurries flying around.

I tried getting up but found the action impossible to do. I was strapped to the tree by my belt and I somehow rolled around so that I was hanging from the tree with just a belt to secure me from falling. I flared my arms around, trying to get a good  grip on the branch. I slowly rolled myself up and around the branch, breathing in a sigh of relief. I unbuckled and shoved the belt in my pack. Slowly making my descent down the tree, I test the weight of and branch before climbing down on it.

It took forever, but I finally made it down in one piece, sporting only a few scratches. The white stuff crunched under my feet, leaving footprints behind. I checked the time and saw it was 14:18 (2:18 p.m.). Huh. Who would  known the best sleep I ever  got would be in a tree. I shook my head at the irony and walked through the white woods. I took out my phone and dialed Dustin's number.

"Amanda?" A boys voice rang through the speaker.

"Um. Who is this?" I questioned.

The person scoffed. "How dare you not remember my voice! I'm your best friend Brody. Dustin's main bítçh and hoe? Duh," Brody said, sassy.

"Right," I drawled out. "Is Dustin there?" I wrapped my arms around myself.

"He sure mighty is. Hey dust storm," he hollered, making me cringe.

I heard a faint grunt. "Hot neighbor  chick on the phone for ya, sand storm! Wanna guess what her name is?"

There was a loud thunk and more yelling. "Hello?" Dustin sounded breathless.

"Yeah. I have a question."

"Okay. Shoot."

"What's this white stuff falling from the sky?"

There was silence. Nothing but crickets chirping. "Dustin?" I asked nervously.

"You've never seen snow before?"

"What's snow?"

I heard a slap. "Snow is frozen rain. You've seen rain before, right?" He asked  me slowly.

"Yes, I have seen rain before, thank you very much." I rolled my eyes. Was it such a crime to not have seen snow before?

"Yes, yes it is." Dustin said.

Oops. Did I say that out loud?

"Yep," he laughed.

"Oh shut up..." I looked  for a good comeback. "Sand man." I snickered.

He gasped. "You did not go there,"

I giggled. "I did. So what does snow do?"

"Stick your tongue out. Wait, where are you? It's not snowing here. How far away are you?" He asked.

"I don't know where I am. I'm in the woods. And why the hell would I stick my tongue out? It's freaking cold." I complained.

"Stick your tongue out and try to catch a snowflake." He said, like it was the simplest thing in the world.

"What do you mean, catch a snowflake? Like, catch it with my mouth?" I was so confused.

"Yeah. Stick your tongue out and try to get a flake to land on it. Where are you?"
