Temper's POV
*Six Month's*
"You lazy whores help me." Lala yelled hold like four trash bags. "Hold on. Can't you see we watching the game." Chris barked. Lala mumbled under her breath going out the back door. "Come on Curry! Make it." I screamed at the television. "That man good but he ain't that good." Chris laughed. "Don't doubt my boy. We been rocking for five years." My attention never left the TV screen. "Yeah and I want my money when he misses too." Chris laughed at me.
"T have you seen your pregnant girlfriend?" Lala said. I didn't respond zoned out. "Temper!" She snapped me out of my trance. I looked over at her. "Have you seen Kelly?" Lala put her hand on her hip. "She went upstairs." I said with a duh look. Lala upped an eyebrow. "I just checked up there." She crossed her arms. That's weird.
I got up speed walking to the bottom of the steps. "Baby?" I called waiting for a response. "Kelly!" Still no answer. My heart started to beat fast. I flew up the stairs and around the corner. I jogged up the hallway straight back to our room. "Kelly?" I called looking around the master. I opened closet and bathroom doors. My heart started to race. I opened every room door looking and searching. I ran back to the steps. Lala and Chris stood at the bottom. "She's not in here." I felt my heart pounding. The two looked at each other then at me. "I'll go check the back yard." Chris said grabbing his phone. "I'm going to call the police." Lala went to the living room. I ran towards out the front door. I stood on the porch looking around. "KELLY!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. I ran down the steps then fell over something. A pink box sat at the bottom of my feet. The hell? I picked it up taking it into the house. I analyzed it flipping it around. No name, weird.
"Temp." Lala said getting my attention. "The police are on there way." Setting the box to the side I walked to the back with her to see about Chris. The back door already opened I walked straight out into the night. I saw chris over the rolling hills that was my back yard. We met him half. "You see her?" I questioned. "Nothing." He turned his flashlight off. "I ran my hands through my hair. "What the hell? This don't make no sense." I started to pace. "She wouldn't just wonder off like this." I panicked some. "Alright calm down. You can't think straight if your worked up." I took a breath listening to her. She was right. I'm going to go out front and wait for the police. You and Chris can brain storm on where she might be." Giving me a pat on the back Lala went back to the house.
I rubbed my temples thinking. Why would Kelly just leave like that? She wouldn't. She's barefoot and pregnant. Its freezing out here and she ain't gone last to much longer. I suddenly looked up.
My eyes skimmed the forest line. "Chris how far did you go?" I asked curiously. "I stopped at them trees." He responded quickly. "You don't think she's really out there, do you?" Giving him a look of conformation I directed my attention back to the woods. "I'll go get a couple of the guys, tell them to meet us." Chris backed towards the house. "Hurry."
An hour later...
"Kelly!""Kellyyy!""Keeeellyyy!" People called for the missing woman. "I stepped over branches, weaved around trees and peeked over bushes. Still nothing. Its been about and hour and a half since Kelly went missing. And I'm starting to loose my cool. There has been no trace of her anywhere. Police, friends and neighbors scattered around the plush greenery to help find her. The temperature was dropping and she was going to freeze to death if we don't find her soon.
I dragged in exhaustion but I'm not stopping till see her face. Dropping down to my knees I started to have a panic attack. I held a tree for support. My coat restricted my air ways. Ripping it open I held my hand over my chest trying to catch my breath. "Temper!?" I heard Lala call my name. She came grabbing me throwing me against the tree. Tears fell down my face. She just looked at me surprised. "What are you doing?" She had angry look on her face. "She's dead. I know she is."I cried with my head down. I don't ever cry, for anyone but Kelly is not just anyone to me. "Temper if you don't get your ass up and look for her." Lala stood pointing out into the darkness. "Kelly's gone I feel it." "Listen to me and listen good. Your not giving up on her that quickly. Your not just going to kill my friend off like that. You don't get to. She's not dead until you see her blue lips you hear me? I shook my head standing to my feet. "Now march."
Lala was right. Me giving up on her wasn't fair. And it damn sure wasn't fair to the baby. I needed to pull myself together and find her.
Suddenly a light flashed about fifty yards to my left. "Aye I got something." A mans voice echoed through the woods. In fight or flight kicked in. I took of in that direction. Everything moved in slow motion. Was it really her? Was she alive? Was the baby okay? So many thoughts ran through my mind. My destination came closer my heart beat faster.
It was an older man, my neighbor from across the street. He kneeled down flashing his light into a deep ditch. I came to a complete stop somewhat out of breath. "I think I see something down there." He said handing me the flash light. It was about a eight or a nine foot drop. I shined it down seeing something. *God please let it be her* I sat down on the edge carefully pushing myself over. Sliding down I hit the bottom hard. "Shit." I mumbled to myself. "You alright man?" I heard Chris's voice. "I'm good." I rubbed it a bit looking up at the now sic or seven people. "I need a paramedic on stand by to my location." A police said into his walkie talkie. I scooted deeper into the damp trench.
Grabbing my flash light I shinned it in front of me. The light reflected off of a body. It was Kelly. I felt like I could breath again. A part of me was back again. I quickly crawled over to her quickly. "Kelly?" I touched her a little scared that I was to late. No answer. I flipped her over in fear. "Don't do this to me?" I put my face to her mouth. Her breaths were faint but it was something. I wiped the blood her her face that came from the gash in her head. I grabbed her pulling the limp woman into my arms. Rocking her to and fro I held her tightly. A small groan came from her lips. "I got you baby you baby."
Three Days later...
My eyes popped open at the sound of movement. I sat up looking around the cold hospital room. Kelly's eyes opened slightly as her fingers moved a bit. I instantly sat up grabbing her hand. "Hey, hey. Take it easy." I moved her hair out of her face. "Your okay." She didn't say a word. Her eyes closed again as she let out a deep breath. "Get as much rest as you need." I kissed her forehead. I tired to pull back but she gripped my hand tighter. "Okay, I'll stay right here." I said scooting my chair closer to her bedside. She opened her eye staring at the ceiling.
I sat silent for a second. "Kelly do you remember what happened?" She placed her hand over the bandages concealing her stitches. "No not really." "What do you remember?" I questioned. "I was uhm. I'm the living room with you guys. Uhm everything after that is a blur." Kelly rubbed her belly. "You were in the woods behind our house." I informed her. She looked at me puzzled. "What?" "When's the last time you took your medicine for your stress levels." I said flatly. "Before the party, why?" I got up going to lean on the wall. "The doctors said they found high ABP levels in your blood. That stuff is in the medicine they gave you." I bit my bottom lip. "I took them so thats it." She defended herself. "Its only found highly when someone takes over the amount they need to take ma." I poked a bit more. "It acts as a hallucinogen then it shuts the body down. Suicide victim take them alot." A sudden look of anger came over her face. "You, really think... That I would do this to myself? And hurt our child?" She squinted a bit. "Kelly. You were found two miles deep into the woods. When all your medicine was gone...What else I'm supposed to think-" she cut me off. "That I tired to kill myself?!" Her heart monitor started to beep a little faster. Silence filled the room for a second.
I didn't mean to offend her. The last thing that I need to do is make her feel worse. But she tried to hurt herself. And its worrying me. There is no other answer for what is going on. That's some fucked up shit but it is what it is now.
"I'm leaving in a minute. I have to catch a flight." She looked down in the plan of her hands. "Some doctors are going to ask you some questions later. Just trying to see where yo head at." She looked up at me slowly. "Are you serious? You're making me take a psych evaluation? Temper I'm not crazy!" Tears welled up in her eyes. "Your carrying our child. In your state I have to make sure you good." Tears fell down Kelly's face. "In my state." She just shook her head putting it back down. "It's all love baby." I tried to clean it up. "You have a flight to catch remember?" She sniffles a bit. "Kelly I-" she cut me off once more. "JUST GET OUT!" With that being said I grabbed my things walking out the door.
