Temper's Pov

I sat on the couch quietly. The game boomed through the Tv. The sound of sneakers squeaking up and down the court drowned out some of the silence. Kelly was diagonal to my left. She was deep into her phone practically ignoring me. Kelly hadn't said a word to me in two days. I mean I can't say I don't deserve it. What I said the other day was out of line. I tried to take it back when I said it but it was to late. And I could see that it hurt Kelly to the core. She was going to have to talk to me sooner or later though.

I turned down the TV. "Baby. We have to talk sometime." She just continued to dabble in her phone. "I know you mad-" Kelly sat up putting her phone away. "I'm not mad anymore. I forgave you that night. I just don't want to talk to you." She got up going to the front. I got up going after her. "We'll I'm sorry." I said walking closely behind her. "Like I said your apology is excepted. I just don't want to talk to you." She went to the door unlocking it. "Well talk to me then." I reached over the petite woman holding the door closed. Kelly turned to towards me. "Are you happy I'm talking to you." She grabbed my chin kissing me." Now move." Kelly grabbed my arm taking it down.

She opened the door putting a smile on her face. My sister had pulled into the driveway. As soon as the car parked Kendra jumped out. "Mommy!" She said running to Kelly. Kelly grabbed her kissing her cheeks over and over. "I missed my Ladybug. So so so much." She held Kendra on her hip. Maggie held her bag and her backpack. "Thanks so much. I really needed the break." Kelly said to Maggie as I grabbed her the bags. She gave her a side hug. "No problem. She was fantastic. She was feeling a little down at times. I think she was home sick." Kelly nodded at her with a smile. She already had her bath for today so she should be okay." Maggie assured us. "I'll see you next time Kendra." Maggie waved as she went down the steps. "Bye Auntie Maggie! Love you!" Kendra waved back. Kelly held our baby girl tightly. "Let's take you inside."

The the Next Morning...

Kelly's alarm buzzed hard as her phone vibrated across the dresser. She shifted a bit under me. I refused to move. I cuddled into her chest. "T get off of me." She groaned. Using my little bit of energy I flopped onto my back next to her. She sat up rubbing her eyes.

She quietly got up going into the bathroom. I layed back closing mine. Kelly made an appointment to get Kendra tested. Which I wanted. I don't want her to have the disorder. What parent would? And I'm going to need hard evidence to believe that. Its not that I don't take Kelly's word for it. Its just if I see it I have to except that my Ladybug is Bipolar and deal with it.

Later That Day...

"Go faster!" Kendra held onto me tightly. I galloped around the living room as I gave her a piggy back ride. I stopped taking a breath. "Can I get one more ride?" She begged. "Alright one more." I gave in. Dinner, a bath and then bed, okay?" I said sternly. "Okay." Her little voice echoed after mine.

I raced around the couches with Kendra clinging to my neck. Everything seemed to slow down in that movement. Kendra's cindering laughter filled the house. I felt horrible. She was so innocent. She doesn't know whats going on. Or what could be wrong with her. And it just seems not fair in a way.

"Alright lady bug." I stopped in the middle of the floor. Kendra hoped of plopping on the floor next to me. "Tired?" She asked laughing. I just smiled getting up. I could go for a bottle of water. Kelly paced back forth inside the kitchen. Not saying a word. Just waiting, and walking. I pulled out a cold bottle of Voss from the fridge. I walked as the beautiful woman spaced. She was sexy even when she's not trying. I sipped the water watching her. She walked to the table watching the young girl as she was pulled into the TV. I walked behind Kelly wrapping my arms around her. I kissed her cheek softly.

"She's a fighter you know? Just like her mother. She is going to be fine." I said truthfully. "I know. I don't want this for my baby. I know how hard it is. But if-if it does happen I want her to know were here." Kelly spoke lowly." I mean thats all we can do for her." I held Kelly tighter. She let out a sigh. "Come eat sweetie." She called Kendra. The young child hoped up going to the dinner table.

I let Kelly go. She went to the kitchen with Kendra. Making the food she set the table for us. I took my seat at the little square table. Kendra dug in scarfing down her mashed potatoes. "Slow down honey." Kelly grinned a little. "Sorry." Kendra's mouth was filled. "So what as your weekend like weekend?" I asked her. The little girls eyes widened a she swallowed her food in one gulp. "First that day we watched my reruns and she ordered pizza and she let me have soda after eight thirty. Not like Mama." She looked out of the corner of her eyes at Kelly. "And then she took me to the movies to see Lego movie." She expressed quickly. "Looks like you had a good time." Kelly added. Kendra nodded her head.

Suddenly Kelly's phone rang. She put her fork down gently looking at me. She calmly got up going into her phone. "Hello?" She said professionally. A bit of stress flashed across her face. But I knew it was alot more underneath. "Yes this is she." Kelly took the call into another room.

It was silent for a second. "Is that about that stuff I had to talk about the other day?" Kendra leaned on her elbow while she rolled her peas around. "I know it is." She added. "I don't know. Your Mama ain't say nothing yet." I tried to play dumb. She looked over at me seeing right past it. Looking back down the young girl went on. "I know some things wrong with me. Just like Mama." My heart broke. "Aye look at me. There is nothing wrong with you or your Mama, alright?" I stated firmly. She nodded her head. "Y'all just a little different." I cleaned it up.

Kelly came around the corner. She had this broken look in her eyes. And eyes where a little puffy so I know she was crying. She put on an artificial smile. She came over to Kendra crouching down. "Do me a favor and go upstairs and get ready for your bath." She hopped off the chair and did as she was told.

Kelly got up calmly letting out a sigh. She paced for a moment stopping in one place. She rubbed her hands down her face. The silence filled the room. I walked over to her standing in front of her. "Baby you okay?" I said grabbing her wrist. I tried to uncover her face but she didn't budge. A sudden whimper came from her. Followed by another and a sniffle. "Come here baby." I grabbed her embracing her tightly. "Its okay." I kissed the top of her head. "I- I just wanted to be wrong, so bad." She sobbed. "Its my fault." She said whipping her tears. "Kelly no its not." I tried to reason. "I'm her mother. Six years and I never even noticed." She paced the kitchen. "Kelly can you please just calm down." I grabbed her. "You didn't see it but you do now." So we deal with it baby." I said sternly.

I didn't want to see Kelly like this. She went through all of this. And to see her daughter go through that same brutal possess is going to kill her. At the end of the day. I just want my family to be alright.

The doorbell suddenly rang through the house. Kelly and I stopped and looked at each other. Who the hell was at our door at eight thirty at night. I put my hand up to Kelly. "I'll get it." I walked suspiciously to the door. We don't get people at the house after a certain time. And Kelly doesn't like people in her house after a certain time when Kendra is home. So I know it ain't Chris or nobody.

I opened the door to an older man. He looked almost Latino. Gray hair and a tench coat and a scarf to keep the night air at bay. "Can I help you?" I said asserting myself. "Is Mrs.Rowland home?" He asked. I up and downed him then gave the frail old man a piercing look. "Babe." I called for Kelly. Within moments she was next to me. "Are you Kelendria Rowland?" He asked her. "Yes sir. What is this about?" She said crossing her arms. "You've been served." Served? The man gave her a envelope. "You seem like a wonderful person. I suggest you get a good lawyer. "Th-thank you." Kelly stuttered in amazement. The old man nodded at us going back into the night.

Kelly and I came back into the house. She opened the yellow folder right away. "Served? For what?" I asked immediately. Kelly just continued to read as she walked to and fro. She stopped in her tracks frowning her eyebrows. "Baby what does it say?" I asked again. "Lance is suing me for assault and battery." She said as she skimmed over the documents. Kelly's face then became blank. Then flooded with a mixture of emotion, but I mostly saw anger and sadness. "And h-he's filing for full custody... Of Kendra."
