Happy Valentines Day! XP

Hey, guys! I just wanted to say thanks to you guys who are still reading. (I know I suck, lol) So, in order to do so, I'm showing my readers my love for them by posting two chapters today! I had originally planned on one, but the words kept flowing. XD

Also, this chapter is a bit longer than usual. Once again, I am planning on ending this volume soon, but I will start working on the next one ASAP. I can't imagine much more than twelve chapters for this one. But I have been thinking of combining two Volumes into one, once I finish the second so it could be easier for m readers.

Please let me know what you think, as well as vote if you enjoy the chapter. Thank you! :p

"Why did I have to be paired with you?" Amethyst complains.

"It's your own fault, damn wolf." Signet responds, to which Amethyst throws a swipe with her claws his way, only for him to dodge it with a cocky grin on his face. Amethyst straightens up and glares at the stag.

"Don't use the word 'wolf' as if it were an insult." She growls menacingly.

"To me," he says, pushing on. "It is."

She growls again. She doesn't know why, but, somehow, this boy gets on her nerves beyond explanation.

"Whatever," she says, trying to keep calm. "Let's just get to foraging."

"What would a wolf know about foraging for roots and berries, anyway." Signet adds, an annoyed look on his face. "Wolves," Amethyst says pointedly. "mostly eat berries in the early spring, and roots in the winter, when prey is scarce."

They walk on, Amethyst and Signet in their animal forms. Signet sniffing the air for berries, and Amethyst sniffing the ground for roots. Had a stranger spotted them, it would have been quite an interesting sight.

Signet stomps the ground with his hoof, causing twigs and branches from a nearby tree to snap and bend, eventually forming into a basket. "This will be used to carry them. Very helpful." Signet says this loud enough for Amethyst to hear, but makes as if he is talking to himself. This causes Amethyst to roll her eyes in response. She picks up some roots from her pile with her teeth, before dropping them into the basket. As she walks back to get more, however, her nose is met with the delicious scent of something she has not eaten for a long time.

The scent is faint, but she sniffs around at the air until she is able to locate the source. She grabs the basket with her teeth and runs off into the bushes, to Signet's confusion and annoyance. "Where the hell are you going?" Signet calls, chasing after her. "'ant tahk!" she calls back. "'aasket in 'outh!"

He chases after her. It's not very often that you hear of a stag chasing a wolf, but that is what's happening. And, to be honest, Amethyst finds it highly amusing. "At least give me the basket!" he calls again. "'ope!" she laughs through her clenched teeth. "Ihh neeh it!"

"I said give me the stupid basket!" he calls again, growing frustrated. "Youh ahnt it?" she says, sending a side glance his way. "Come 'et it!" And, with that, she picks up the pace, going twice as fast as before as she laughs.

Just as she jumps through another gathering of bushes, she skids to a halt. Dropping the basket from her mouth, she looks around in awe. A whole patch of wild strawberries surrounds her, sending off a delicious smell and making her mouth water. Signet charges through the bushes not long afterward, before stopping to admire the sight as well.

"Well," he says reluctantly as he steps toward a group of bright red berries. "Perhaps your nose, at least, is useful." He bends his head downward to pick some berries, when several things happen at once. Signet steps on a small patch of grass that is darker than the rest. Amethyst hears a small 'click' as he steps on it. Her eyes widen. Her mouth opens and she yips in warning. "Signet! Stop!"
