Iris stammered into the library, searching the tables for her friend.
She only walked a few steps before resting her hands in her knees, trying to catch her breath.
Iris felt as if something was stuck in her lungs, blocking her airways.
She returned to her normal posture and again scanned the room for any sign of Cara.
Her eyes moved at a rapid speed searching left and right. Then Iris spotted her blonde haired friend, sitting at a table located in the centre of the large building.
"There you are!" Iris sighed, slamming her bag onto the wooden desk.
Cara looked up from the book she was reading and gave a small smile.
"I'm sorry" Iris said as she sat down across from her friend.
"It's fine. You're here now" Cara smiled closing the book shut.
"Can I help with anything?" Iris asked watching awkwardly as her friend stood.
"No, it's fine. I'll be right back" Cara turned around and walked towards one of the long walls of books.
Iris sat in silence, looking around the library, searching for something that would interest her.
Then she saw him.
His styled hair curved into the shape of a crowning wave.
Barry Allen sat on a desk that sat in the corner of the large room and once again, his eyes were glued to the contents of another comic book.
Iris stared, watching as his eyes moved back and forth along the page.
"What are you looking at?" Cara said furrowing her eyebrows at a startled Iris.
"Um, nothing."
"So, what book did you get?" Iris said quickly changing the subject.
Cara looked down at the large book in her hand.
"Oh, just something to help with the upcoming math test."
Iris nodded and quickly glanced back at the boy that sat behind her.
Her best friend took a seat across from Iris and opened the book to a page in the middle and began reading its contents.
As Iris watched Cara intently reading she debated whether she would talk to Barry or not. She knew that if she didn't do it now she never would.
She would never build up the right amount of courage to say "Hi" or start a proper conversation with the boy. After intense thinking, Iris sighed and walked towards the boy reading a comic book.
