Chapter II: Hunt

I sigh, hugging my mother tightly as she cried. I rub her back and she sniffles. She lets me go and smiles at me. Today was the day I was finally leaving to go to the cabin. After summer ends, I will be going on a plane to go somewhere else. My mom knew that she wasn't going to see me for a very long time. She sniffles and I give her a small smile.

"I'm gonna be okay mother." I tell her and she shakes her head, trying to get rid of the tears forming in her eyes. She sniffles, pulling me into her arms once again.  I rub her back as she cried on my shoulder. It wasn't very hard for me to leave, I have always wanted to leave. It was my dream to get out of this little cottage and go around the world.

"I know you will be. I am just going to miss you that's all." She whispers, I give her a kiss on the head. "I love you my little butterfly." That was her nickname for me and it has been since I was really young. I was obsessed with butterflies and I caught them all the time so she began to call me that.

"I love you too mother." I say and back up, grabbing my bags from the ground. I walk over to the back of my truck, throwing my stuff into the bed. I wave to my mother before getting into the driver's seat. I can't wait until I get to the cabin. I watch my mother as I drive away. I turn onto the highway and begin to the long drive to the cabin. I wonder if there will be wolves there this time. I change lanes. There will also be enough animals to sink my teeth into after getting revenge on Melina. I turn on the radio.

"Malina Benson was found dead this morning, mauled by a wolf. We found traces of another girl's blood at the scene. There might be another victim." The Newscaster says before I change it to music. Really Luna, who's blood is it.

"Yours." She tells me and I sigh in annoyance. Why did she have to put my blood at the scene? Mother will start freaking out. I will have to make fake injuries when I get back. Damn it. I turn into the long driveway towards my cabin.  It was a larger cabin with two floors and many windows. I stop the car and turn it off. Finally some peace and quiet along with hunting. I grab my stuff along with my bow. I hold them easily seeing as I also have enhanced strength, I never really understood why I had enhanced anything. I sigh walking up to the door, when I hear a stick break. I drop everything and look towards the sound, my claws began growing along with my hair. Suddenly, a wolf pops out from behind the bush. It was more of pup, a grey pup. I slowly let myself go back to normal as it begins to pad towards me.

"Hello there where is your mother?" I mutter and the pup runs towards the forest again. I follow it towards a clearing where a she wolf sat with blood coming out of her. I gasp, running towards her. At first she growls but I ignore it. She was shot, I can fix it.

"This is going to hurt okay? I'm sorry for what I am about to do." I tell her and she stares at me before giving me a nod. I smile nicely before grabbing my knife from my back pocket. It was a small blade but it would do.

"I have to get the bullet out." I mutter and her whole body tenses. I go to where the blood is coming from and dug into her fur. She howls in pain and the pup rubs against her. I give her a sorrow look before continuing. All I have to do is get it out and then sew it back up. I stop once I feel the bullet. I dig under it and she howls again in pain. I pull it out quickly and then grab out some of my in case of emergency needle and thread. I quickly sew it up, trying not to listen to her howls of pain. I tie it off and smile at her.

"I'm done, but you have to keep it easy. No hunting, I will hunt for you. I promise." I tell her and she lets her head fall to the ground with a weird sigh. I smile at the pup as it rubs against me. I think I just made some friends. I put my hand onto the she wolf's belly, helping her to stand. She slowly walks behind me as I hold the pup in my hands. I walk over to my stuff in front of the cabin and put the pup down. This is going to be a long summer. I can't believe I just made friends with actual wolves. I smile lightly, opening the door letting her in. I grab the rest of my stuff and follow her in with the pup following me.

"You can lay on the couch if you would like." I tell her and she pads over to the couch, getting onto it slowly. I smile lightly as the pup gets on the couch with her. I bring my stuff up the steps, towards my room. I put my stuff down and begin to put everything away. Now I should go hunt for some food for the she-wolf. It's close to night but I can manage. I change into all camo and grab my bow along with arrows. I walk down the steps towards the back door.

"I will be back with some meat." I yell and I hear a yap. I smile, walking out of the cabin. I slowly tredge through the forest towards my tree fort. I climb up it quickly and here comes the slow arrival of a deer. The first thing I am doing after summer ends is going to Denver. I am moving there to work. I sigh but jump up seeing a deer. I pull back my bow and put it directly over the buck's lungs. I close my eyes before letting go. It hits the buck directly where I pointed. I smirk, jumping down from the tree. This will make for a perfect meal for the she wolf and her pup. I throw it onto my shoulder and walk towards my cabin once again. I think I will let her have all of it, I have other food here. I drop the buck in front of the couch and the she wolf licks her lips before pouncing.
