"Make visible what, without you, might perhaps never have been seen." -Robert Bresson
Chapter IX
"Melody you are going to be alright. Just stay with me." Kol's voice echoes, I open my eyes slowly. I see Kol in front of me, holding onto me like I was a baby.
"Kol." I smile sadly, tears in my eyes again. I put my head onto his chest." I called for you. You never came." I mutter and he squeezes me.
"I am here now, I am here. I promise I won't leave you ever again." Kol tells me and I look up at him with tears in my eyes.
"Where's my daughter? Where is she?" I hear my dad yell. I try to get out of Kol's arms, he slowly lets me down. I drop my sheet not even caring at this moment. I see my dad and I run at him.
"This is your fault. He wanted to get back at you." I scream, hitting him in the face. He looks at me in shock as I continue to hit him until Kol's arms wrap around my waist, pulling me away.
"Shhh, it's okay. Let it out." He whispers to me and I fall to the ground.
"It's all his fault." I cry out, grabbing onto Kol as he drops down next to me. I dig my head into his chest, crying.
"Go." Nathan's voice growls out and I tighten my grip on Kol's shirt.
"Melody, he's gone." Kol whispers in my ear, petting my head gently. I look up at him with a nod.
"Will you help me to the bathroom?" I ask him and he nods, picking me up. I grip onto his shirt, making sure I don't fall.
"Kaden wants to see her after she's done. She will probably want you with her at all times." Nathan tells Kol and I nod into Kol's chest. Kol begins to walk, making me grab onto his shirt tighter.
"Melody, you have to let go so I can put you down and begin your bath." Kol whispers into my ear. I slowly unlatch my hands, letting go of his shirt. He puts me down onto the closed toilet. I watch as he turns on the water to a hot. He helps me stand, bringing me towards the bathtub. He then helps me step into the tub, letting me sit. He kneels next to the tub.
"Thank you." I say and he gives me a smile.
"You've been through a lot, i'm just happy to help." Kol says and I pull my knees up to my face.
"But you don't have to help. I am just a crying little girl." I frown, looking at the running water.
"No you are not, you went through a horrible thing. I am here to help no matter what. Now do you need something to clean your hair." He asks me and I slowly nod. He kisses my cheek as he stands up. I watch as he leaves to go grab my shampoo and conditioner. He walks back in with them in his hands and puts them down on the ground. Kol grabs a small cup putting water in it and begins to put it on my hair, soaking it. I watch him intently as he does this. I don't know why he is doing this for me. I don't even know why I feel so safe around him. He finishes my hair and lets me clean myself before pulling the plug on the water. Kol helps me stand, walking to my closet.
"What would you like to wear?" Kol asks and I look around at all of my clothes and point to the least revealing clothes I have. He hands me the black leather jacket and high necked galaxy dress. He makes sure to give me some leggings for under my dress and a pair of black boots. I slide into my undergarments before putting on my clothes. I shrug on the leather jacket and look into the mirror. Kol stands behind me, holding my hand.
"Come on, we have to go meet up with Kaden. " He whispers into my ear and I nod, holding onto his hand tightly.
"It's alright, he won't hurt you." Kol mutters and I nod once again. We continue to walk towards the gardens for the hundredth time. Kol holds onto my katanas in case of anything but I feel like I can't trust them anymore. Kaden sits on the seat with his head in his hands.
"Kaden." Kol says quietly, trying not to spook Kaden. Kaden looks up at us, standing up quickly.
"Melody." He mutters in disbelief, he pulls me into his arms. I pat his back gently before I suddenly get teary eyed. I feel myself fall into his embrace and he squeezes me.
"I am so sorry for what Orion has done to you." Kaden whispers into my ear and I let him go with tears falling down my eyes. He flicks the tears off my face, making me smile.
"I need to tell you something and I think both of you should sit down for it." Kaden says looking between me and Kol. Kol nods, sitting down and lets me sit onto him. I pull my legs onto him as he holds me. Kaden gives us a nice smile, it's a wonder how much he has changed because of one thing.
"I am your brother." He blurts and I look at him in surprise along with Kol. "I know, crazy right? Your dad told me before we found you. I had the same reaction." He mutters and I nod at him.
