Mick escorted Stevie back to her suggested spot, her condo, her letting him in as she made a cup of coffee. He had already tried several times to kiss her, not giving in to any of his seducing, already wondering what was wrong since she hasn't denied him these passed few months.

Stevie handed him the cup of freshly brewed coffee, excusing herself as she stepped in to her bedroom, calling Lindsey like she had promised. He picked up almost immediately, as if he had his phone at his side, just waiting for it to ring with her name on it.

"Steph, hey, you home?"

"I am," whispering. "I just got back."

"Why are you whispering?"

"I'm sorry, I didn't realize that I was."

"Where are you? At your home or condo?"

"My condo, just having a cup of coffee."

"You sound...different, unsure of yourself, what is going on?"

"Nothing is going on, Lindsey, I swear to you. I honestly swear that nothing is going on. I can't go through this with you if you can't trust me."

"I do, I trust you."

"Then why are you assuming that something is wrong?"

"Because I know you and the tone in your voice is telling me so."

"I'm just allowing my brain to go through everything that I've experienced these passed few days. For the first time in a long time, I am exceptionally  happy."

"As am I, baby."

She smiled, "I really like it when you call me that."

"I really like calling you that so I will know to say it whenever you're near. Say, how was your dinner with Mick?"

"Good, very good. Took me to a nice little Italian restaurant, enjoyed it."

"I'm glad, you should be treated on this day but I just wish it could have been me."

"Listen, I have to go for now - I have a headache and in need of a bath, I want to write in my journal then relax. I want you to do the same, want you to relax, as you have been doing too much work on that house."

"Are you sure it's not you  that I have been doing too much work on?"  smiling through the phone.

"Linds, you know exactly what I mean," chuckling.

"Okay, I will listen to you because you know what's best."

"Now that I like, having you do what I want. I'll make sure to use that on you the next time we're together."

"I look forward to it."

"As do I."

"Goodnight, angel, I absolutely whole heartedly adore you."

"Me, too, so much."

"I love you,"  he whispered, so seriously though the phone.

"And I love you," hanging up as she vowed that she would not allow Mick to come near her, just finish this cup of coffee and show him out.

Mick was standing by her fireplace, already lighting it, her sighing to herself as she made her way towards him. Stevie sat down on the couch and curled up with her mug, waiting for him to notice that she had returned.
