AMBER's POV
I finally did it! I took the first step and managed to ask that question to her. She got a bit surprised, it's obvious on her face. We had this awkward staring but our attentions were transferred to Sooyun when she tripped. It was Krystal who first got up and run towards her. I can see the worries on her face and the relief when Sooyun grinned at her.
"Appa!" Sooyin called me and run towards me.
"Yeah?"
"Look." she said excitedly as she open her hands, showing a colorful shell that looks like half of the heart. "Pretty, isn't it?"
"Yeah, it is." I replied to her curving a smile.
"Take it, it is yours. I gave the other half to Umma. It's Sooyun's heart." she stated and grinned.
I glanced at Krystal and she curved a timid smile. I took the shell from Sooyun's hand and it made her happy.
"Umma, Appa, I'm hungry." she said rubbing her stomach.
"I'll get the food." I said and head to the car.
We enjoyed our simple dinner. Sooyun did most of the talking. We ended our perfect night with fireworks. Sooyun hold my hand and Krystal's hand as we admired the light of the fireworks painted the night sky.
"Sooyun is sound asleep." Krystal said while stroking the kid's hair who is sleeping on her lap.
"She got tired from running around." I stated as I glance on the front mirror.
She curved a smile as a response. When we arrived at the hotel, I carried Sooyun inside. I noticed that the hotel's staffs are whispering at each other. Krystal is just walking beside me, with a glint of pink shade on her cheeks.
"Are they talking about us?" I asked her and it made her looked at me.
"Y-Yeah." she replied timidly.
KRYSTAL's POV
I can say that Amber is a good father. I feel envy Sooyun's mother. She's lucky to have a husband like her and is a fool if she will leave him. Thinking about this reminds me to ask her whereabouts. We are now inside the elevator, having this awkward silence between us.
"I'm just curious..." I spoke after clearing my throat and I got his attention. "Where is Sooyun's real mother?"
"S-She's with someone else now." He answered me as he look away.
'So that girl is a fool.'
"I'm sorry." I quickly apologized.
"You don't have to say sorry. She really never left me or...us."
His statement made me confused.
"What do you mean? Are you saying you are the other man?"
"Our situation is complicated." He answered curving a faint smile.
"I can't imagine how a woman can abandon her child who loves her so much and I think you are a good husband." I told him.
"We are not married...yet." He answered.
"So it means you intend to marry her. I don't want to pry but I'm just curious, why did she choose that guy over you?"
"Because she didn't know how much we love her." He said looking at me and it made me stare at him. "I haven't told her yet." He continued breaking our eye contact.
I feel my chest tightens and my heart stings in pain knowing that someone already captured Amber's heart. How foolish am I thinking that he wants me to become his child's new Mom?
"Then I think you have to let her know how you feel." I advised him, forcing a smile.
"I'm afraid I'm too late. Just like what I've said, she's already with someone else and I can't just snatch her away from that guy."
"You are not taking her away by force so it is not snatching. It will be her choice if she chose you. That guy doesn't own her, she is not a thing."
"You probably right but..."
"No more buts, just tell her how you feel." I encouraged him.
"Is it the right thing for me to do?"
"I think it is. Sooyun needs a mother."
"If I can see that she's not happy with that man, then I won't hesitate to tell her." He replied curving a smile and the elevator dings open.
We finally reached their floor and I know we will go on our separate ways.
"I hope that if I will tell her how I feel, she feels the same way for me." He said as he looked at me with his dorky smile. "Good night, Soojung."
"Good night, Amber." I answered returning his smile. "Good night, Sooyun." I continued looking at the sleeping child.
I watched them until the elevator's door closed. How lucky that woman is to have them. I wished I am her. I will really choose them than anything else, even over a successful career and fame.
