Chapter 38

JESSICA's POV

While we are walking on our way to meet Amber's friends, Amber excused himself and approach the guy whom he saw across the street. Sooyun held my hand that shifted my attention to her. I can see that she was worried while looking at the guy Amber approached to.

"Do you know him?" I asked her.

She looked at me and slightly nodded her head. I shifted my attention back to the guys and it seems like they are having a serious conversation. It seemed like the guy Amber is talking to is not a dangerous person.

"Don't worry baby." I said to Sooyun caressing her face. "There's nothing to worry about." I continued and curved a smile.

We waited for Amber, and it seemed like they were having a serious conversation. I saw it in Amber's face.

"Why you didn't introduce me to your friend?" I asked Amber when he came back to us.

"He is not really my friend." Amber asked me and he picked up Sooyun, carrying her.

"What did he told you Appa?" Sooyun asked, looking at him worriedly.

"He just told me to take care of you." Amber answered her curving a smile but I saw there is something lacking in that smile.

"I didn't expect my sister's family will be this mysterious." I said and scoffed.

"Same here." Amber said turning to me. "Let's go now." He continued.

When we arrived in the restaurant, the first one I saw is Mrs. Liu. I approached her thinking that she will be having lunch with us too.

"Auntie?" I called her and curved a big smile when she turned to me.

"Sooyeon." She called me back and gave me a light hug.

"Oh my God! I didn't expect to see you here." I spoke.

"Me either dear." She answered curving a graceful smile. "Are you alone?"

"Ah no. I'm with..." I paused as I turned to where I left Amber and Sooyun is. "them."

Amber and Sooyun curved a smile at her, politely greeting her. I find it weird seeing someone greeted his mother like how Amber did. It seemed like his mother is someone he is not related with.

"Is that how you greet your mother, Amber?" I commented and scoffed.

Amber looked at me with furrowed brows. He looked puzzled and his expression made me confused.

"What are you talking about, Sica?" he asked me.

"Aigoo, look at the time." Mrs. Liu said looking at her watch. "I have to go now. It's nice seeing you here."

She caressed Sooyun's face before she hurriedly left.

"Amber, did you have a fight with your mother?" I questioned Amber.

He stared at me and I looked at him with furrowed brows.

"She is really grandma, Appa." Sooyun told him holding his hand. "Don't be mad at her anymore."

I felt this tension in the atmosphere and without a word, Amber quickly.

"Now, I can conclude that your family is really weird." I said looking at Sooyun.

"We are not weird, Auntie." Sooyun said and giggled. "Let's sit on that table." She added pointing that one vacant table from the distance.

She was dragging me and I was just following her behind. She almost fell down when a guy suddenly pushed his chair knocking Sooyun. She's lucky that I grabbed her hand and stopped her from falling.

"Are you okay, baby?" I asked, kneeling down in front of her checking her forehead where she was bumped.

"Sorry, I ddin't notice your kid."

The guy who's at fault apologized to us.

"And do you think I will accept your apology just like that?" I told him with stern voice looking at him.

"Er..."

"Don't worry Auntie, I'm okay." Sooyun reassured me with a smile.

I calmed down myself and let out a deep sigh. I then began to notice that other people were looking at us.

"Ohohoho, what's this commotion all about?"

I looked behind and saw this one guy who kinda looked like Amber with a blond guy with him. This blond guy looked familiar to me.

"Uncle Key!" Sooyun exclaimed happily and run towards him.

"Sooyun!" he answered welcoming Sooyun with his hug.

"Don't tell me they are Amber's daughter and wife?" the stupid guy said.

"Man, this is Amber's daughter and she is his sister in law." Key told him and chuckled."It's been a while, right Sica?"

"Y-Yeah." I replied forcing a smile.

"I'm Jonghyun." The guy who look like Amber introduced himself and grinned. "And he is Yuri!" he continued pointing at him.

"I'm glad you aren't Amber's wife. It means I still got a chance." He said while grinning like an idiot when I turned to him. "Pleasure to finally meet you Jessica Jung!"
