Chapter 8- An angel on earth

We made it to Zoe's home by 6 in the morning.

I was exhausted as efff...

Suddenly my phone vibrated.

As expected it was Steve.

Steve: Wtf? Everything okay????2 months?? Are u kiddin meh?? Uk that ur salary will be deducted ryt??? Answer meee ASAP??? Call me fast!!! U hv to xplain me wht happnd!!!

I called up Steve without a second thought.

"Hey Steve"

"ZACH ARE U OUT OF UR MIND??? Do u undrstand the meaning of a 2 month vacation??? "

"Yeah! pretty much! Around 61 days i guess"

"I did not mean how many days you idiot! I meant what happens if there is an emergency in Metlife??"

"Dude Chill everything is fine! I thought about everything and did this k?? I am a software engineer and I have to use my skills for my benifit someday so I had designed a software in my sick leave through which I can operate all the systems and software boards of our company through my laptop and plus you have my phone number top ryt???"

"Yeah Smart ass! Just keep in touch and yeah dont forget to update the softwares on time."

"Sure Steve"

"And yea, mail me your leave letter by evening"

"Yup"

Saying this we disconnected the call.

I took a look at Zoe, she was fast asleep. She looked like an angel.
She was soo exhausted that she slept with her shoes on.

I thought of giving her a surprise. Something small yet sweet. But first I should give her a sweet sleep.

I carefully slipped her shoes off her foot in such a way that she would wake up then I tugged into her blanket and sat by her. Trust me she looked like an angel sent by the lords in my life. I gave her a kiss on her cheek and stood up.

Time to get the surprise ready!
