What was I thinking coming back here? Part of me really wanted to know why my feet had carried me here. What was I expecting to find? Was I expecting to find him here? Or did I just want to get away from Miyako like usual? Honestly, I wasn't sure.
It had been a week since Sasuke was here and today, curiousity got the better of me. I couldn't help but take a peek into the forest, hoping that he'd be there--but he wasn't. And I shouldn't of been surprised, but I was. I'm not sure why, either. I guess it wasn't a big deal anyway, right? Yeah, sure.
Either way, I let out a sigh as I leaned against one of the many trees, and looked up at the leaves. Ryuu was still acting suspicious of me too, and it was starting to scare me. Did he know? Even Miyako seemed to catch on a little bit. Naruto was completely oblivious though, which is reassuring. Even though Naruto seemed a little slow at catching on, he was still very intuitive. So that means I'm not completely see through...
"Hey!" A voice suddenly called out next to me and suddenly I felt a pair of dainty hands on my shoulders.
"Ah!" I cried, immediately jumping and letting out probably the girliest squeak I have ever made in my life. Placing a hand on my heart, I finally faced my predator. Only to find out seconds later that it was only a certain bubbly kitty girl, Ayame.
"What's wrong?" Ayame asked innocently, even tilting her head slightly for effect.
"You scared me." I explained.
"Oh, sorry." She tried to say seriously, but I could hear the amusement in her voice. "I've just been looking all over the place for you."
My ears perked up at this. "Oh, why?"
"Well, Ryuu said he wanted to talk to you." Ayame said simply, shrugging her shoulders.
My eyes narrowed immediately. Now I see what was going on, Ryuu was using her to try and trick me into training. Well, there's no way I'm doing that. "I'm not falling for that."
"For what?" She questioned, frowning slightly.
"He's trying to trick me into training by using you to bait me into it!" I hissed, scooting away.
"What..." She started, raising her eyebrow up. "I don't think he'd do that... He just told me to come find you, and that you'd probably be in this forest."
Realization hit me like a brick, or a truck, even. Now I really see what he was trying to do. He was trying to get me to talk to Ayame--reveal what happened the other day. "Well, I'm not falling for that one either."
"What are you talking about?" She asked again, puffing her cheeks out. "You're not making any sense."
"I know what he's doing." I accused, crossing my arms. "You can't make me!"
Ayame stared at me incredulously, or like I was crazy or something. "Girl, I still don't know what you're trying to say."
I took in a deep breath. "Ryuu knows, and he wants to use you to confirm it and I'm not gonna let that happen because he would judge me and so would you and I can't do that to him and--"
"Wait--"
"And it sucks because I want to tell you--and Ryuu and everyone else too but I don't want to hurt everyone--"
"Mimi--"
"I don't want to hurt Naruto."
"Mimi..." Ayame started, grabbing onto my shoulders. "Whatever it is, you can tell me."
"You won't judge me?"
"Of course not." She replied instantly, flashing a smile at me.
I smiled back hesitantly. Sasuke didn't want me to tell. Should I? I mean, Ayame's my best friend, and I trust her. I don't know what I should do. A secret between us...
