"Thank you for coming." Shizuka told us. She was standing next to Ryuu, and they were holding hands as they stared at everyone. The two had called Ayame, Shan, Nari and I to a meeting, saying that they had an announcement. We sat under the tree near one of the training grounds. There were a couple others here because everyone had brought someone. Ayame brought Neji, Shan brought Tenten and Nari brought Kiba.
"So what did you have to tell us?" Ayame was the first to ask, and was unable to stand still as she jumped up and down in excitement. "I hope its cake. I mean, I really, really hope its cake."
"Ooh, Cake." I said dreamily and rubbed my stomach.
"I highly doubt that it’s cake." Shan hissed from behind me.
"But we can dream!" Ayame cried back.
"Quit fighting you two." Shizuka interrupted, shooting both of them an annoyed look. "It’s not cake, but if you behave, I will take you all out to eat after this."
"Sorry sensei." They chimed in simultaneously and lowered their gaze to the ground.
Ryuu cleared his throat to gain everyone’s attention again. "Anyway, we wanted to bring everyone out here, because we have an announcement." They looked up at each other with a smile before focusing their eyes back on everyone.
"We’re… having a baby, I’m pregnant."
Silence was the response right after the words left Shizuka’s mouth, mostly from shock.
"That’s so awesome!" Ayame, Nari and Tenten cried all at the same time, and immediately rushed up to Shizuka to feel her stomach while the guys, excluding Shan, ran up to high-five Ryuu.
This left Shan and I standing in surprise, my mouth was hung open as I stared at the ground and Shan stared at the couple with his lips pressed together in a tight line. It was a matter of seconds before he stomped off in the opposite direction.
I forgot all about the surprised feeling I had and followed him, he stopped near a cliff and clenched his hands a few times. I ran up to him and gently placed my hand on his shoulder. "What’s wrong?"
He slightly jumped when my hand touched him and he whipped around. "N-Nothing, It’s nothing!"
"Are you sure?"
He looked at me with a smile and nodded his head. "Positive."
My worried look never went away as he looked away and frowned. "If you ever need to talk about anything…"
"I said I’m fine."
As I was about say something else to him, Ryuu interrupted by running up to us. "This is a random place for you guys to be. I wanted to talk to you two personally about this, instead of with the whole group. Does barbecue sound good?"
"Sorry, I have to train with Nobu-Sensei." Shan replied without missing a beat, and we both raised our eyebrows at him.
"I’m sure you can skip…"
"No, this is—"
"Sparta!" I yelled excitedly.
"No!" He glowered at me before turning away with an aggravated sigh. "Anyway, I’m late for my training. I’ll see you later."
And with that, he disappeared with a ‘poof’ while I turned to Ryuu with a grin. "Well, I’ll still go with you, Ryuu."
"Of course you will." He stated after we started to walk towards the group of people who were still crowding poor Shizuka. "You’re getting free barbecue." My grin widened and I nodded excitedly. Ryuu walked through all the people crowding his girlfriend so that he could be next to her. "Don’t crowd her."
