"Please?" She begged, clasping her hands together and giving me her best pouty face. "It won't be the same without you! That's why Naruto even mentioned it in the first place!"
I tried my best to not look at her, knowing I would cave in any second if I even thought about looking at her pleading face. I kept my focus on the task at hand-- hanging upside down from a tree. Maybe she didn't get it, maybe she didn't realize how many memories it brought back. And certainly I had better things to do, like hang upside down. Of course, this was for training, and I had been training non-stop since the Guardian kicked me out once again. But, it's hard to train when you have a certain kitty girl begging you from your side.
"Please!" Ayame tried again, clinging to my leg. "And don't ignore me!"
Now, how she managed to cling to my leg while I was hanging upside down, I have no idea. But, in a weird way, it was better training this way. Having to hold up the extra weight was probably a good thing. Although I still didn't understand why I had to do this in the first place. Miya and Ryuu had never explained it to me, they just told me to and then left.
"Please!" She screeched for about the twentieth time in the last ten minutes.
"Okay, you know what!" I finally yelled out, kicking her off my leg before doing a flip from the tree, and landing perfectly on the ground. "Fine. Just fine. If it'll make you stop doing that, I will go." I gave in, shoulders drooping at the thought.
"Yay! That makes me really happy!" Ayame squealed, catching me in a death grip of a hug. "Thank you, Mimi-Chan."
I looked away from her, grumbling nonsensical words at her. I'm glad I could make her happy. And yes, what she was begging me for was to, of course, go to the Sakura festival. Just thinking about it made my stomach twist uncomfortably. The last time I was there was with...
"We have to find you a kimono!" She gasped, pushing me into a random direction. "And your hair needs done! Ooh, and makeup too!"
"No makeup." I growled out, sending a small glare her way.
Ayame pouted, but nodded her head nonetheless. "What about if I braid your hair?"
"Nnn..." I stared at her pleading face, having trouble letting out a simple 'no'.
"Oh, or how about a braid on the side that goes into a bun kind of?!"
I shrugged my shoulders slightly, tilting my head to the side. I guess that wouldn't be too bad.
"And we can make each other flower crowns!"
A small blush formed on my cheeks out of embarrassment. She was way too excited about this...
"Ooh, I'm getting so many ideas already!" She beamed at me, gently tugging my hair in different directions. "The guys will be all over you!"
"Er, no. I don't want that." I said, ducking my head down. "I'm there to hang out with friends."
"Oh come on! Isn't there anyone you're interested in?" She asked, raising her eyebrow at me. "I heard from Sakura that you called Naruto a good boyfriend."
"Yeah, for her. I was trying to get her to get over... ah, you know who, and go with Naruto." I defended, glaring at nothing in particular.
"Didn't you have a thing for Kiba once? Or he had a thing for you?"
"No, him and Nari belong together."
"Umm, Gaara?" She tried again, waggling her eyebrows at me.
I cringed at the very thought of the memory. "Rejected."
"What about Shikamaru?! You two are both lazy..."
