Chapter 8

Riker POV

We were watching this movie about a serial killer. Yeah, it made me a little scared, but don't all scary movies do that to people?

Skye on the other hand, definitely was not a scary movie person. She was acting as jumpy as I was a few weeks ago. Any slight noise, and she'd jump. She'd even elbowed me in the stomach once, which hurt kind of bad. I knew she didn't mean it, and I thought it was kind of cute to see her all scared.

"Skye."

"WHAT!?"

I paused the movie.

"I need a bathroom break."

"Are you going to leave me here!?"

"Uh... Yeah?"

"What if someone murders me!?"

"Skye, you'll be fine."

"No!"

Skye crawled onto my lap, and wrapped her arms around me.

"Skye, come on. Get off. I have to go!"

"No! I'm going to get murdered!"

I stood up, carrying Skye in my arms. I went to Ross's room.

"Can you pry her off me, and make sure she isn't murdered while I go to the bathroom?" I asked Ross.

"Um... Yeah?"

Ross grabbed Skye around the waist, and pulled her off of me. I ran to the bathroom.

Skye POV

I turned in Ross's arms, and held on tight. I hate scary movies. They are definitely horrible.

"Skye, wow, calm down. You're fine. You're breathing way too quickly."

Ross sat down with me on his lap. Riker came back a minute later.

"Riker, whatever you did, scared the crap out of her. What did you do?" Ross asked.

"We're just watching a scary movie."

Riker came over, and took me in his arms. I had my arms around his shoulders, and my legs around his waist, hanging on tight.

"Wow, Skye. I never knew you got so freaked out with scary movies."

"Ugh, I hate you so much. Why did you have to make me watch it!?"

"I wanted to see if I'd be ok. And I am. I'm not too scared."

Riker got in bed with me, and pulled the covers over us. He pulled me close to him, and unpaused the movie. I didn't even want to watch it anymore. And I had no way of getting out of it. It was Friday night, and I had no excuse to go to bed early.

I turned in Riker's arms so I was staring down at his chest.

"Riker, I don't want to watch anymore! This is awful! Please!"

"Ok, ok! We don't have to watch the rest."

I could hear him close his laptop. I crawled more onto his lap, and he held me tight.

"Skye, are you ok?"

"No. Definitely not."

"What's wrong?"

"I'm freaked out!" I shouted, starting to cry.

"Skye, it was just a movie."

"Maybe it was just a movie to you, but it scared the crap out of me!"
