___________________________Baby blue eyes looked down at me gently, strong and steady arms held me like a cradle. My face was tear stained, my night gown crinkled.
"Momma why did the bad things come after me?"
Those blue eyes grew dark,"Nothing came Dear. It was only a dream."
I sat up to see her face better,"But I saw them... Outside they were trying to take me."
Momma ran her hands over my cheeks and wiped away my tears,"Your father and I would never let anyone take you. In your dreams, or in real life."
"I'm still scared Mom, they said they would hurt you and daddy-"
"Shhh..." She pulled my hair back gently and began braiding it.
"Calm down my little Lyssa, everything will be fine." She assured me, her eyes focused on me.
I put a hand on her cheek,"Do you promise?"
She put a hand over mine,"I promise."
*******
A thump from the real world tore me from my dream, and sent me surging back to the large glass house belonging to the Cullens.
My eyes eyes shot opened and I sat up lightning quick only to find I wasn't alone in my room. Butterscotch eyes met mine, a soft smile greeted me. The vampire had smooth caramel curls and a motherly glow.
"I'm sorry. Did I wake you?" She asked, straightening up from where she'd placed a bag of my belongings.
I shook my head," No. There was a noise-"
At that moment I heard it again from the floor directly below us.
She glanced down for a brief second before looking at me again,"That's Edward and Emmett, they love a good play fight."
I nodded and eyed my stuff warily, she smiled,"Carlisle and I picked it up this morning."
I noticed she didn't dare elaborate on my mother's condition. That made me wonder, just how bad could it be?
She flinched as glass broke down stairs,"Boys... I hope that wasn't another vase-"
Their gulps could be heard by even me as they fled the house; Esme shook her head,"Boys will be boys."
Facing me, she smiled,"Don't hesitate to ask for anything."
I nodded as she fled to room, thankfully in a slow pace that was comforting to me. I ever so carefully walked to the door and closed it, locking it on instinct, though that would hardly keep anyone out.
This place had me extremely on edge which was way out of the norm, I was usually very calm and secure. Here there were far to many possibilities and things to worry about.
As I changed clothes, I contemplated the room around me which was very organized and spacey despite how it looked from just laying down.
Finally I had on my outfit, a casual pair of jeans, a long sleeved red shirt that hugged my form perfectly. Being as quiet as possible, I unlocked the door and began heading down the hallway.
It took me a minute of looking to find the stairs and make my way down, I made it to the bottom floor after a moment, finding that half the household was waiting for me there.
