Chapter 2
Our house was silent, no even a cricket was chirping outside, it seemed as soon as I spotted the person behind me, so did everyone else. I couldn't help but be glued to those eyes, warmth filled my body.
My parents were now on either side of me, my fathers hand on my stomach, pushing me slightly behind him.
Mom had her fangs barred, a hiss escaping her lips, Aunt Leah was being held behind Uncle Jacob, who had also forced back Lou and Jonah.
Sam had Emily and Kelly all the way in the kitchen as he approached the man behind me, correction... Men. Three to be exact, the first being the most intimidating, his broad shoulders and muscly frame.Being shirtless and extremely tan, I supposed that he was a shapeshifter, as well as his companions. The two boys behind him had their teeth bared, their canines long enough to be considered fangs, his kites out a little as he smirked.
"Well... Don't let us interrupt the party."
His amber-golden eyes were locked on me, one of them having a large scar over it that went from his hair line to his cheek bone.
The two behind him had dark, slate grey eyes that flashed around the room, waiting for a fight.
Sam was now in front of me, cutting of the man's gaze,"Your aren't welcome here."
Sam's voice held a warning, cold and venomous.
Golden eyes just laughed,"We just decided to stop and crash the party." He said it in a carefree, yet serious tone, taking a step forward and bumping chests with Sam, who nudged back twice as hard.
"I'm warning you Liam. You were banished! Exiled! I'm giving you one last chance."
Sam's voice was deadly, I could see his back shaking, Liam didn't seem bothered at all by this.
He smiled largely and raised an eyebrow as he dared,"What are you gonna do about... Old man."
I nearly shouted when Sam grabbed him at the throat, slamming him into the wall and making the window behind him shatter. Liam's friends were now tensed and ready to strike, their arms trembling wildly. They were abruptly met by Jacob and Leah, who shoved them away.
Sam leaned close to Liam, whispering something unintelligible to him, then he threw the now chuckling boy to the ground.
Liam pulled himself up,"I'll get what I want Sam! No one heres been able to stop us before! Your no different."
Liam looked at me one last time, making me blush lightly, my dad put his entire body in front of me, a growl leaving him as the boys left. Once they were gone, everyone seemed to melt, the tension falling off like a coat, but it was an act.
All of us teens knew it too, we could see it in their eyes, the shadows as they gave each other secretive looks. My mother whispered to my father before taking my arm and guiding me to my room.
She shut the door quietly as I sat on my queen sized mattress,"Mom... What's going on?"
Her lips were sealed tight, her eyes telling me she wasn't about to explain.
"Who was the boy?" I asked carefully.
She sighed, her shoulders falling,"That boy is trouble Alyssa."
She put her hands on my shoulders,"Do not ever speak to him."
I raised an eyebrow, confusion filling me,"What was he banished for?"
Her body went tense, she bit her lip hard enough to draw blood."That is none of your concern... Rest dear."
She got up to leave me, "Mother."
