Expectations

Chapter 9

Hours later we were face to face with the original wolf pack and its newest members, Sam standing across from Bella and Jake across from me, their children close by.

Bella nodded at them,"Jake... Sam."

They nodded back silently as I cleared my throat,"I want to know why Liam was banished."

Every one went stiff and the atmosphere became chokingly overbearing. San sighed,"He was after something on the Rez."

I raised an eyebrow,"After what exactly?"

The ex alpha straightened up in his seat,"He was after you Lyss."

My heart clenched,"Me? Why me?"

He ran a hand through his thick, dark hair,"I'm not sure. One night Seth was out on patrol, Lou and Kelly were at your house being watched by Alex. He snuck in your window and grabbed you from your bed. Alex was able to keep him from leaving until we arrived to help her, but he revisited night and night again. We had to guard your house every night but then he suddenly stopped showing up until that night a few weeks ago."

Liam was after me? Why? What reason could he have for wanting to take me away from my family? I glanced at Asher who was standing rigid in the presence of all the wolf shifters. He gently took my arm,"Let's get you back to the Cullens."

Bella glanced up as we rose but didn't speak as we walked into the trees.

Asher put an arm around me,"Don't be afraid... As long as I'm here, nothing bad will happen to you."

But Asher... I'm not afraid for me...

I had an extreme migraine that dominated my senses at the moment. A flash of orange was all I saw at first, but I was slowly coming to. Finally my vision cleared and I was looking into a fire, I jerked awake faster than I would have thought I could. I was at the reservation, not my home, but Liam's home! My arms and legs were tightly bound by rope, Liam and Conner were a few feet away from me. Ian was closer and staring at Asher who was wrapped in barbed wire that seemed to be coated in a slimy substance. The vampire was roughed up a bit but conscious.

I jerked against my bonds, earning the attention of the werewolves. Conner chuckled at my struggling while Ian stayed silent, Liam circled me like prey, his golden eyes narrowing at me.

"I never wanted it to go this way Alyssa, I wanted it to be nice and easy... But you made it impossible." Liam clicked his tongue, grabbing my chin.

I blinked in confusion, glancing at him strangely,"I don't understand..."

He shook his head with a laugh,"Of course you wouldn't. You don't know anything!"

His face was now extremely close to mine, I heard a hiss flew from Asher's direction followed by a threat from Ian.

Liam backed off, allowing me to fall on my face,"Those shapeshifters have been lying to you since the day you were born!"

I struggled to lift my face from the dirt,"I don't understand what any of this has to do with me!!"

He chuckled humorlessly,"Don't you see! It all has to do with you!!" I gave him a look of confusion, causing him to smirk,"You really have no idea... What an idiot. You really think your just a regular hybrid? What a foolish idea."

He knelt down in front of me,"I'll let you in on a little secret... You and I are one in the same. Your a fourth vampire and half werewolf and so am I."

I shook my head "But your... How?" He laughed,"You aren't any part shapeshifter because your father isn't Seth Clearwater."

My heart ceased to beat for a moment and I choked internally,"W-what?! No!"
