"Come on mama! Keep up!" A small boy giggled while waddling through snow reaching his thighs. His ash blonde hair could barley be seen when compared to snow, the only thing setting it different was a dark grey toboggan snuggled on his head. The boy was swaddled in a thick black coat with grey fur in its hood and a pair of thick dark pants and boots. His pale face was flushed from the cold as he pressed his gloved hands to his chilled cheeks to call out a o his mother.

The sound of tree limps crackling under weight had him looking up as his mother landed beside him, she stopped him into her arms and twirled until she tipped over into the snow. Her auburn hair looked like flames against its stark white color, her icy blue eyes watched her son make a messy snow angel beside her. She wore an outfit slightly more airy than his, with a thinner coat still having fur in its hood, and a toboggan over her head. Her hands were uncovered but hardly chilled in the snow.

Bzzz Bzzz Bzzz

She looked down at her phone automatically as her son stood and began wondering off,"Hide and seek Mama! I hide and you find!!" He called out with a smile; she smiled but gave him the one moment movement with her hand as she answered the phone.

"Hello?" She began.

"Alyssa, this is Carlisle. Your grandmother is on her way over, something about Salem's big present?" Alyssa smiled largely as her 'grandfather' spoke, knowing exactly the gift he was referring to.

"Of course!" She assured him, glancing around she realized that Salem had hidden despite her protest,"I'll be there before they arrive. Goodbye." She hung up and began her search in hollow trees and logs, then scoping the tree tops. Finally she spotted him ahead, but he wasn't hidden, in fact he was simply walking straight away from her. She began sprinting toward him, only to have him begin to run as well.

Alyssa was confused and sped up, finally catching up just as he hit the river bank and fell, rolling over and over again only to fall into the water. She appeared by his side as the smell of blood filled the air, her cold hands turned him over and looked at a large cut he now had on his forehead.

"Salem! Oh my God! We have to get you to Carlisle!" She stood and prepared to bend and pick him up when a voice came from behind her.

"Mama? Are you ok?" It was Salem... there was no doubt. She hurriedly looked back at the child who had fallen only to receive a punch that sent her careening backward. The hybrid looked up only to find a girl with dark red hair and rich brown eyes possibly a year or so older than her, there was a sadistic grin building on her pouty lips.

"Oh this is rich! That kid belongs to you!?" She chuckled darkly as Alyssa stood and got in front of Salem, silently bumping him backward step by step.

"Who are you?" Alyssa asked, the woman shook her head and smirked,"You don't have to ask... you already know. It's written all over your face."

It was true... it was her. In a moment Alyssa had whipped her son into her arms and taken off, hearing the footsteps behind her she had only open option.

Salem struggles as she shoved him in a hollow tree surround by foliage, she shushed him and spoke quickly. "Stay here! If I'm not back by night fall walk toward the house, remember to follow the river and it will take you to Lapush beach!"

She took off after a brief kiss to his forehead, intent on leading him away from the other hybrid. Her heart dropped, this was Falen, the true daughter of Seth and Alex. Liam wasn't lying... he didn't kill her.

Alyssa pulled herself again a tree and rested for a moment only to hear a stray branch crack near her position.

"Come out come out where ever you are little freak." She sang, her voice carrying through the trees.

"You know why I'm here don't you?" Her heart dropped, "Im here because you ruined my life. You took everything from me!"

"My parents took you in out of pity and they loved you more than me- their own daughter! That night when Nessie came to kill my mother she decided killing me would be the better way to go! My mother saved you from our burning home and didn't bother going back for me!" Her voice became slightly chocked, Alyssa could hear her tears.

She decided to make a move,"Thats a lie! Liam took you from your house when you were young!"
"Your wrong!" Falen hissed, punching her in the stomach.

"Let me guess? Liam told you this? He lied!" She gasped out, holding her stomach.

"Your mother loved you Falen and you know it!" The top of the tree she was leaning against was slashed in half,"Lies!!"

Alyssa received a well aimed kick to her should before being turned forcefully and slammed against the snowy ground below, a hand in her hair drew her head back as pearly white teeth came within an inch of her ear.

"Now... you'll pay!"

"Mama..." A small boy with icy blonde hair stared frozen at a bloodied body, his mother's dark brown hair was tangled and flailed around her head, her throat had been ripped out. Crimson stained her chest and chin, her now dormant grey eyes stared above lifelessly.

Movement caused him to look up as a smirking figure approached, Falen kneeled down in front of him.

"It's finally over kid-" She wrapped her hand around his neck,"Now just to finish what I started."

Just as she was about to rip off his head, an arm was thrust through her body, her eyes caught a glimpse of her still beating heart in the fist of her attacker just as her body fell lifeless.

"Your right- now it's over." Salem looked up through tear filled eyes only to be shocked,"M-Mama?!"

Alyssa smirked and picked up her son, as he looked back he noticed her d as body was gone,"Mama... How did you?"

She kissed his nose,"Magic... Now smile birthday boy, I have a surprise for you."
