"What do we do?" A pant escaped my chilled lips as the night airbrushed past them, Asher had an arm firmly around me as we made our way into the deep forest.

He sighed heavily,"First we find a spot to rest. Then we return to the Cullen's home so that we can call for back up, those damn dogs trashed my phone."

My back stiffened as he insulted the wolves, dread taking over. "Asher? Do you hate me for what I am?"

His crimson eyes shot to my face and widened,"No! Of course not! You aren't them, and they are not you!" He stroked my cheek lovingly, allowing me to lean into its warmth for a moment.

Suddenly I came to a realization,"Asher! When did the effects of the werewolf saliva subside?" He raised a blonde brow and shrugged lazily,"After you found me... I couldn't just let you fight on your own, something just gave me my strength back."

"Asher... what if it was my venom?" I asked, my lips quivering in anticipation.

"What?" He looked at me incredulously. I took his face in both my hands,"Asher! I kissed you when I found you! What if my venom is what caused the werewolf saliva to become harmless?! Do you know what that means?!"

His eyes lit up with realization,"If your venom disables the werewolf saliva- that could mean that werewolf saliva could possibly do the same to vampire venom!"

I nodded enthusiastically and kissed him, breathing in as much of his scent afterward that I could. I laid my forehead against his,"That means I could cure my mother... I mean... Alex."

Asher smiled at me and kissed my forehead,"You can still call her mom Alyssa. She raised you and taught you everything you know, Alex will always be your mother."

I let out a deep breath I hadn't realized I was holding,"So what now?"

Asher looked off into the woods,"That's up to you... If we need werewolf saliva you know where we have to go. On the other hand I feel as though this is too easy, like their is someone else with a piece in the game we have yet to consider. "

"We don't have time to wait on other members of the Volturi... my mother needs me now. That being said, the wolves will try and stop us, we will need help." I placed a hand on my chin, "but who will help us now... How will we get someone to march right into a war with werewolves?"

"You can start by saying please-" The voice was a commanding tone, yet light and feminine. I looked up to see a girl sporting a dark brown braid, dressed in a flannel top and denim shorts.

An unsure smile crept onto my face,"Lou?"

The wolf shifter smiled,"We felt you shift... I'm not sure how or why, but we stand by our own." Suddenly footsteps could be heard as the entire pack came to her side, lighthearted smiles on all faces but one. Jonah was looking anywhere but at me, he hid behind Kelly and Drake and Dustin behind her.

I avoided looking at him for too long,"So I guess you heard the plan then?" I asked Lou. The brunette nodded,"Loud and clear. You know they will try and stop you from taking the saliva to Alex."

I nodded,"That's why it won't be me."

"Please... say something." I begged the bronze haired girl before me, watching as her brown eyes widened and then returned to normal as she sighed.

"Of course I'll do it. It's the least I can do for you, I know I haven't exactly been inviting." The hybrid commented, looked ashamed. I hugged her, startling her as she jumped in my hold.

"I don't blame you, I trudged right into your home and overstayed my welcome. I'm sorry Renesmee." I apologized to her. She smiled,"Maybe we can be like sisters after all... I'll get the saliva to your mother Alyssa, you can put your faith in me."

I took her hands in mine gently,"I couldn't bare to let your family place themselves in danger during this fight. That's why I'm not telling them, please don't let yourself be found out. Hide in the forest during our fight and when it is finished someone will hand over the saliva to you." Nessie nodded slowly,"You have my word."

"You may not be a part of our pack in that you fall beneath my alpha command, but you must obey me Alyssa. It's the safest way to assure you and everyone else stays safe." Lou berated me, her eyes soft as they gazed upon me. Yet a resisted,"Leave Liam to me- we don't know the full story yet and there must be more to it!" I begged her to see it my way.

"She's right Lou." The voice was very unexpected, coming from my once precious childhood friend, Jonah came to my side,"No one knows what really happened all those years ago. If Liam knows the truth wouldn't it be worth figuring out? The entire incident didn't just effect Alyssa and Alex, it tore our pack bonds to pieces and turn them into nothing."

Lou looked at her brother appreciatively,"I'll give you one chance Alyssa and only one. Get him to talk or get out of the way."
