Chapter 10: The Peaceful Summer

After a couple more hours of hanging out, Hayden and his brothers had to go. To say I was sad would be an understatement. As soon as the door closed I frowned.

I know what you're probably thinking. 'Wow she's clingy!' But I promise you I'm not, I just feel like Hayden is like my other half!

'Huh, I do sound clingy...'

I walked back over to where everyone else was talking. "They were actually really cool!" I heard Aaron say, I rolled my eyes. Cody nodded in agreement. "I'm actually hanging out with Dom tomorrow after football; you want to tag along with us?" Aaron shrugged and nodded his head.

Not long after that Aaron and Blake's dad came and picked them up, while Ava went home. I was washing the dishes in kitchen while Cody was showering when the front door burst open. My mom and some sketchy looking dude came in. They were locked in a heated make out session. I cringed at the sight before me. It's pretty nasty watching your mom make out with some random guy. I was considering stabbing my eyes out, or running out. My mom broke the kiss panting, running her hands all over this guy. "I'll be right back tiger; I'm just going to slip into something more comfortable." I snapped out of my thought, silently gagging to myself. My mom ran up the stairs to her room.

I started to walk by the guy towards the stairs when he grabbed my wrist. "Hey, ain't you the new girl that Hayden kid been hanging 'round with?" I ripped my wrist out of his grip, and nodded. He chuckled and shook his head. "Better watch your back girl; it ain't safe with people like them." I just scoffed and walked away and into my room. I locked my door and changed into my pajamas. I picked up my headphones and plugged them in, knowing my mom and her friend were going to be making some...noises. I fell asleep listening to One Direction's soothing voices.

When I woke up my phone was vibrating. I walked over to my dresser were I left it and saw messages from Ava and Hayden. The message that caught my eye was from my grandma, I forgot that I was going to spend the rest of summer with my grandparents on the farm. I was leaving tomorrow! I called Ava and told her to meet me out front in twenty minutes. Then I called Hayden to see if he wanted to hang out with Ava and I. He agreed, we said to meet at the park in a half an hour.

Ava and I walked to the park and met up with Hayden. We laughed and told stories all day. It was about six in the evening when we all went home. I promised to call them every day I was gone. I ran up to my room and packed clothes for the rest of summer. I took a shower and fell asleep right away.

I woke up to someone gently shaking me. I blinked a couple of times adjusting to the light in the room, before me stood my grandma smiling down at me. "Morning Sweetheart, it's time to go." I nodded and sat up, not bothering changing because I was just going to sleep in the car on the way there anyway. I grabbed my bags and headed down stairs, I saw my brother and my sister waiting for me by the door. Cody grabbed my bags and left to put them in the truck for me. While my grandpa pulled me in for a hug and gave me a kiss on top of my head. My siblings and I piled in my grandparents truck, and we drove off towards the farm.

About an hour later I woke up and saw the huge iron gates that led do my grandparents estate/farm. They still owned the same farm they did when my mom was a little girl; they even expanded and bought more land. They have all of your stereo typical barn yard animals. Three horses, twelve goats, sixteen cows, eight chickens, six sheep, four pigs, two dogs and two cats.

The horses, cows, chickens, goats, sheep and pigs had their own barns and their own fields. The dogs and cats stayed in the house. The barns were the red color with white paneling; the inside was just as astounding as the outside. The concrete floors and the stables. Everything was perfectly clean and in place, my grandma preferred clean barns.

And their house...Oh God don't even get me started on the house! It's more like a freaking mansion; we all have our own rooms decorated to our liking. My grandma also had a huge garden with everything imaginable. They had trees, fruits, vegetables and flowers. Needless to say I loved it here. I jumped out of the car and ran to my room and unpacked my clothes. I raced back down the stairs. Hailey and Cody were already gone with my grandpa. "Hey hon, you want to help me in the garden?" I nodded eagerly at my grandma.

We picked a lot of different things and walked back in to the house. We went straight to the kitchen and started preparing lunch. While we were preparing lunch I was telling my grandma all about Hayden, and how I snuck out to see him. "You remind me so much of your father..." she choked out with tears in her eyes. "He wasn't allowed to be with your mom, so he snuck out to be with her." I smiled at that, knowing how much I am like my dad.

I helped set the table, and then I walked out to go get the others. We sat down and ate lunch, the talking never ceased. I helped clean the dishes, and then I went outside to help the workers with the chores. After that I took a walk be the water fall they had. I grabbed my phone and called Hayden, he picked up immediately. We talked for three hours before I was called back for dinner. I hung up the phone and enjoyed my peaceful walk back home. And that's just how I spent the rest of my summer, surrounded by people I love.

A/N Sorry this was a really short and crappy chapter! I just wanted to get through her summer and show Addison and Hayden growing closer. What do you guys think of her grandparents? I'm not really happy with this chapter, but i want to get through the summer and on to the start of sixth grade were Hayden and Addison grow SUPER close!
