Chapter 8: Not My Prince Charming, But My Knight in Shining Armor

As soon as I stepped into Hayden's house I was engulfed in the most welcoming scent I have ever smelled. I looked around the front room; it was decorated with warm colors. The walls were covered in family pictures, there were two brown couches.

"Oh hello hun! You must be Addison!" I was snapped out my thought by a cheerful short woman. She had graying brown hair, but warm chocolate brown eyes that remind me of Hayden's. She dried her hands on a dish towel; she threw the towel on the couch and walked towards me. She pulled me in for a tight hug, I instantly hugged back. "Hi Mrs. Daniels." She waved her hands dismissively in front of her. "Call me Diane." I smiled at her and nodded.

"BOYS! COME MEET YOUR BROTHERS CRUSH! I-I-uhh mean friend who happens to be a girl?" I giggle as Hayden's face turned redder than a tomato at his mom slip up. The three boys from the cemetery came jogging down the stairs.

"Hey I'm Aiden." The tallest one held out his hand for me to shake, I took and smiled. "Addison." Then the second tallest walked over and held out his hand. "Josh." I smiled and shook his hand. "Addison." And the last boy walked over, he looked to be about Cody's age. "Dominic, but most people call me Dom." I nodded and took his hand. "Addison, but most people call me Addy." He smiled at me and took a step back.

Aiden walked over to Hayden, he grew his arm around Hayden's shoulders lazily. "So..." Aiden said awkwardly. I bit my lip and shuffled my feet a little bit, feeling slightly awkward. I heard someone gasp loudly, I glanced up to see a beautiful little girl. She had long black hair, and deep brown eyes. She was looking at me with wide eyes, she noticed me looking at her and she started to walk down the stairs.

"Hey B, this is Addison." Dom said, pushing the little girl forward. I kneeled down to her height. "Hey, I'm Addison. What's your name?" I asked gently, I could feel all four boys staring at us. "I'm Brenda. You're really pretty! Do you want to play Barbies with me!?" She said, her voice gradually rising. I giggled and nodded my head. "I would love to play Barbies with you!" She giggle and grabbed my hand, she pulled me all of the way up the stairs.

When we reached her room I smiled at how girly it is. The walls were bright pink, I wall was covered in paintings. I walked over; I noticed there was a little paint set. Brenda walked over to where I was standing. "These are amazing Brenda, did you do these?" She nodded, a slight blush creeping up on her cheeks. I laughed at how outgoing she can be one minute and so shy the next. She pulled me away from the wall and showed me this huge bin of Barbies. "Pick whichever one you like!" She said sounding really excited. I started digging through the bin. I pulled out a blonde Barbie and put her in a T-shirt and jeans. Brenda had the same idea.

"GIRLS! Dinners ready!" I heard Diane yell from downstairs. I had been playing Barbies with Brenda for a good hour now. She's a super sweet girl, I learned a lot about her. I learned she loves soccer, and I learned that no one her age wants to be her friend because if her brothers reputation. Which I thought was bull shit. We walked downstairs to see the boy seated outside; Diane was getting the plates and silverware out. I grabbed the plates from her, while Brenda grabbed the silverware and napkins. Diane seemed shocked by our actions. I smiled down at Brenda as we made our way outside to the table.
