Annalee's Birthday and No Dates

It is February 17  and today I woke up to see Sophie packing. Today was the day when Sophie and everyone went home. I got out of bed a hugged Sophie. I walked downstairs with her and said goodbye to Dan, Phil, and Tyler. I was gonna miss having them around because the night before Dan and Phil attempted to make brownies and they did not turn out that bad! Mark hugged me before leaving to drop off Dan and Phil and Sophie at the airport and take Tyler home. I decided to skype Annalee and see how she is doing. I slid across the wooden floor into Marks recording room and called Annalee. She answered immediately.

"Hey Maddie", Annalee said cheerfully.

"Hey what's going on?", I asked smiling.

"Can you guess what today is?", Annalee asked.

"Umm...your birthday?", I asked waiting to get yelled at because I had no clue what today was.

"Wow you remembered!", Annalee yelled. "I thought you forgot",.

I let out a sigh of relief.

"Happy birthday Annalee", I yelled.

"Thanks", Annalee responded. "Do you wanna talk to Jack, he is on lunch break right now",.

"Sure if I dont get in the way of him eating his Chinese takeout", I said giggling.

"I bet he won't mind let me get him for you", Annalee said walking out of the room.

It was completely silent and then all you could here was the sweet sound of some one saying " I was about to take a bite of the egg roll". It made me smile and then I heard Annalee and Jack come back into the room.

"Hey Maddie", Jack said smiling.

"How's it going Jackaboy? Sorry for interrupting your egg roll feast", I said smiling.

"You didn't do a thing darling, Annalee ate the egg roll instead", Jack said pointing over to Annalee who had her face stuffed with egg roll crumbs. I laughed really hard. I talked to them for a while until Mark got home and then Mark wanted to talk to me. I ended the Skype call and Mark looked worried.

"Yea, Daddy", I said.

"You know how much I want to keep you safe right?", Mark asked.

"Yea",I responded.

"You know that I would never let anyone take you away from me?", Mark asked grabbing my hand.

"Yes, Mark, I know you care about me and I care about you", I said.

"Then do me a favor as your father and please don't go on any dates", Mark said looking me in the eyes.

"Dates? What are you talking about?", I asked.

"Maddie.. Who asked you on a date?", Mark asked me looking through his glasses.

"Mike", I said.

"Mike is a nice kid and all but maybe when your older and all okay?", Mark asked. "You are still my little gamer princess, and I don't want anything to happen to you",.

Mark hugged me and I felt like a part of my heart kinda shattered.  I shoved Mark just enough to make him step back.

"But I know Mike and he would never do anything to hurt me", I said.

"I know Maddie but your my little fan girl and think about if something happened to you and what would Bob, Wade, Jack, Yami, and all the guys do with out you", Mark said. "We still don't even know if that Steve YouTube guy is not gonna come get you",.

Mark looked at me and I saw a tear run down his face.

"Just promise me that we won't go on a date", Mark said.

"I...promise", I said.

"Good girl", Mark said hugging me again. We hugged for a minute and Mark told me that he had a few recordings he had to do. I went up stairs and saw that my phone was going off with texts that said:

MIKE: Hey do you want to go on a date tonight? I wanted to know if you like to go see a horror movie
MIKE: I know it's not a friendly movie genre but I think you could like this horror movie

I stared at the phone and thought about what Mark said. Promise me that you wont go on any dates. I grabbed my phone and texted Mike saying:

MADDIE: Mike, my dad said that I can't go on a date

I waited for a response and here is what it said:

MIKE: Maddie, please I convinced my mom to get me these tickets, I have like zero friends, please.. :(

MADDIE: you have friends

MIKE: no I'm sorta shy at school ha know

MADDIE: if it really means a lot to you, what time is the movie?

MIKE: 9 pm

MADDIE: Okay well can we meet over at your place because I have to sneak out of the house

MIKE: okay, but if you don't want to go or your dad says no, I understand

MADDIE: no, a horror movie seems nice besides my dad has a lot of work to do and I can simply make it out

MIKE: okay, you don't have to dress fancy either we can wear hoodies

MADDIE: sign me up lol I will see you later :)

MIKE: okay bye

I put my phone down and looked at the clock. It was 2pm already. I flopped onto my bed and then my bedroom door opened. It was Matt.

"Hey me and Ryan are gonna go get some lunch with your dad do you wanna come?", Matt asked.

"Sure, I would love too", I said.

"Great then let's go", Matt said shutting the door. I put on a tshirt colored lime green and a blue hoodie and a pair of jeans. I skipped down stairs and followed Ryan, Matt, and Mark out of the house.

I can't wait for tonight!
