There lived a girl near the ocean blue,
with her mother, who was pretty as can be,
whose hair was shining into the night
Eyes which were sparkling bright. Her mother never saw the sorrow that lay upon her daughters feet,
Only saw the false smile and gleaming eyes And thought everything was alright. She always had tears painted on her face,
Her wrist, bloody and bruised,
But when her mother came near she hid with fear,
And masked her true self with no trace. Her mother ignored the blaring signs
And never read between the lines,
She fed herself lies to keep up the ties
Of her already crumbling home. The daughter went to the nearest cliff
To watch the sorrowful sea,
She saw a man floating in the air,
with peaceful eyes and beautiful hair
who whispered to her 'come with me'.She looked back with her grieving eyes
And saw nothing worthy for life,
She gazed at the man with happy eyes
With no more tears or any fears
She looked at the waves which were crashing low,
And whispered "I'm ready to go".There lived her mother near the ocean blue
With agony driving her life,
The razor cuts on her thin, pale wrist
Burned less than the life winding knife. She blamed herself for her daughter's death
And never believed it was true,
But when she saw her body in the sea,
She cried with agony and with grief
Then she smiled and took a breath of relief
And whispered,
"Soon, I'll be with you".-Teresa Waruguru (Tessa)-
