The light came towards me. Closer and closer. The small yellow glow became greater and greater along with my fear.

My feet were frozen, I couldn't move. I was paralyzed from fear knowing that I could die in a few seconds.

As the glow of the lamp stopped short in its tracks 10 feet away, the man finally noticed me.

The man was tall, but skinny. He had a uniform on, he was an army soldier.

Ohmygodnskxn oh my goskd !? I-is he gonna kill me? An innocent young girl trying to survive?

The man stood there examining me.

"A-are you gonna kill me? What are you waiting for! I'm gonna die anyways why mot just do it now!"

The man didn't answer. He stared in silence. Then he came over, and looked in my eyes.

"No mam, I am not going to kill you. What do you think I am, a murderer?"

"Well yeah, the army's been wiping everyone out these days, have you been outside?"

He chuckled. The man went on to explain about how he was ordered to "clean" out a building but fled when realizing the true meaning behind clean.

He escaped into the sewers, looking for someone to stay with.

"I get lonely you know? I know it has only been 2 days since this all started but uh, it's hard finding humane people anymore!"

"Well it won't be too hard, because I have 2 more people I'd like you to meet."

With a sense of trust and security I lead this stranger to my mother. I went back to the door and opened it, making eye contact with her. I opened the door a little more so she could see the soldier.

She gasped and stumbled back.

Trying to keep calm, "she said don't take any step closer."

She told me to come forward, so I obeyed, soon she would find out the man wasn't a bad guy.

She whispered-yelled at me and asked why I brought him here, who he was, where he came from.

I told her that most strangers I wouldn't trust, but this one I had a different feeling about. I felt that he would help us in the future, and without him we would get nowhere.
