She looks defeated, and you feel slight satisfaction. That's what she gets. But you are worried about him.
You catch him watching her curiously. He wants to know if it is his.
But she doesn't spare him a glance. Surely if it was his kid she'd be all over him, begging him to help raise the child.
But she hasn't.
