Dinah's pov
I watched her across the crowded mall food court. I noticed her often since summer started. She always came here with her two friends, and she wasn't afraid to show any skin. I personally thought she showed to much...."Helloooo did you hear anything I just said" My best friend Lauren said . "what..yeah" I mumbled. I ran a hand through my hair. "I said we need to do more this summer than just sit in this mall...and look at hot attractive people" Lauren hit my arm.
"yeah...whatever" I looked at the girl across the crowded food court."you have been looking at that girl ever since we got here, I'm starting to think you're on creep status" Lauren giggled. "What girl..."I felt embarrassed. "The girl who is casually sitting with her friends being watched". Lauren rolled her eyes. "shes getting up ..let's go" I quickly stood up. "um no i'm not following a random girl" I pulled her up and dragged her along. "She is going into H&M , were going to go in there and act casual" I explained to Lauren.She nodded her head. "I really like this shirt..."She held up a plain white shirt."It's a regular shirt.."I looked at her. "So.....you know how easy it is to loose plain shirts." Lauren held up the shirt. "we aren't buying anything ..." I put the shirt back on the table. She pouted her bottom lip. "she doesn't even know you.." Lauren sighed. I looked around the slightly crowded store for the girl. When I finally laid eyes on her I smirked, she was captivating. "Just go say hello" Lauren got annoyed. "No ...are you crazy..."I got worried. "What ever... can we go then...."She asked. "fine.." We began to walk out the store. "what next.." Lauren asked. "Mini Melts..?"I suggested. "YES!"She grabbed my arm.
"Lauren..yo...Lauren! I whispered. While she paid. "What .."She replied. "they're behind us I whispered back. "As in...." She picked up her ice cream. "The girl and her two other friends" I whispered. "Are they following us or something" She mumbled. "I don't know but i'm gonna say some thing" I mumbled. She handed me my ice cream and we slowly turned around. I was now face to face with the beautiful girl who shall remain un named for now.....she was more beautiful close up her eyes shined and her skin looked soft. Are eyes met for a split second. "Are you gonna move ..or" Her short friend tapped my arm. I looked Slowly at Lauren. Who was completely captivated by the lighter toned short girl "Sorry.." I mumbled and grabbed Laurens hand pulling her away from the machine. "She's so beautiful..." I mumbled. "Her friend is hot A.F" Lauren replied taking a bite. Look who's the creep now..." I smirked. "Um. No" Lauren rolled her eyes.. And looked away "There is a carnival tomorrow, let's invite them" I continued speaking. "You go ...I'm staying right here" Lauren began eating. "Okay.." I gained some confidence. "Go get her tiger." Lauren put one hand in the air. "Don't do that" I shook my head. "Shut up...just go" Lauren said. I gave Her my ice cream and ran a hand through my hair. Then walked over. To the three girls. I lightly tapped the mysterious girls shoulder. She turned around and are eyes met again. "Um..u-m .. Hi" I stuttered uncontrollably. "Hi" her voice was soft and calm."..I was wondering if maybe you would like..to go to this carnival down town tomorrow" I asked. "Can I bring my friends" she asked. "S-sure" I ran a hand through my hair. "Hand me your phone" I quickly gave it to her. I watched her tap on the screen. She handed me back my device. "Maybe you should text me later" . She turned back around and left with her friends. I looked through my phone. I noticed a New contact Normani Kordei it said.
I walked over back to Dinah. "Normani" I smiled. "Are they coming" Lauren asked. "I have to text her" I said. "Well damn ..got her number already" She smirked.
-later that day-
I laid on my bed a decided to text Normani
-Dinah -Hello
