"I have a really bad feeling." Kiba murmured to Akamaru as he rubbed the dog whom whined in agreement. "Kiba-Kun." Hinata greeted and Shino nodded his greeting at Kiba. Everyone in rookie 12 was acting weird. They all seem tense and fidgety when team 8 met up with them. Ever since the Naruto incident, no one dared to talk about Naruto but none had refused to believe it. But they had held Naruto for so long, it made them all slowly start to believe it. "Something isn't right. I can feel it." Sasuke whispered but everyone heard in the quiet and tense room. They were gathering in the hyuuga compound for the same thing Sasuke had just pointed out. "I don't believe it. I refuse to believe that Naruto-Kun would do such a thing." Lee said firmly, for once he wasn't shouting about youth due to the seriousness of the topic. "Me too." Tenten agreed, clenching her fist tightly. None of them could believe they had once accepted the news that Naruto had apparently assaulted the villagers. Naruto was too kind to hurt anyone that way. Even if they hurt him, he wouldn't hurt them. He would gladly take the assault if it meant he could save someone or something. He wouldn't do something that would harm anyone.
"We have to save him."
"And we have to do it quick. We never know what the villagers would do to him." Shikamaru said seriously, sitting up straighter, his eyes sharp and focused for once not asleep.

Tsunade snarled to herself as her anbu reported back about the visitors. The most interesting ones were the clan heads and council meeting up in the cell of Uzumaki Naruto. The anbu hadn't specify what all the activities were but Tsunade was going to find out herself. She quickly wrote a letter to the daimyo about disbanding the council and making new clan heads, getting her fastest anbu to send it to him.
Tsunade leaned back in her chair, finishing her tea when she felt it. It was that gut wrenching feeling again. It was that feeling she gets when something went wrong, she turned to look lovingly at the picture of her and the boy she considered grandson. The second she finished her tea, the cup in her hand and the glass of the photo frame cracked at the same time. What? Most people considered items that crack randomly an omen. The glass had cracked over Naruto and one particular crack had spilt between Naruto and Tsunade, cutting them apart. Tsunade's hand had released the cup involuntarily and she was already out the door before the cup touch the ground, shattering into tiny of pieces.
Tsunade had reached the prison so quickly she hadn't remembered any of her trip on the way there. She stormed past the guards who hastily greeted her. Shizune was hot on her heels, having followed Tsunade out after said woman had threw the door open. Tsunade and Shizune gasped, both horrified by the site. The cell was covered in blood, the blood smearing the wall like its occupant had been thrown against it and then slid down. It was everywhere, pools of blood on the hard cold stone. A lump on the ground near the wall was curled up. The two took a moment to realise who it was. His usually bright blond spiky hair was limp, caked with blond and dirt that there was barely any of its usual colour left. The boy's broken body looked horrific. Tsunade and Shizune's medical instincts kicked in. They rushed in and started checking the boy. Tsunade and Shizune struggled to keep their emotions in check as they rushed the boy to the hospital.

Rookie 12 were discussing what they were gonna do to get Naruto out. They had gone through many possibilities and things they could do, listing the pros and cons when they heard it. The sound of something cracking. Heads all snapped up, looking around for the source. Sasuke's eyes drifted to the photos. There it is, the cracks on the glass protection of the frame caught the afternoon light. Those were Hinata's photos of the rookie squad, a few with her team and a few with the girls and one with Naruto. The one with Naruto had crack badly, the glass sculpture Naruto had got for Hinata's birthday cracked slightly too. The rookies looked at each other in shock and dread. They all started running. They were directed to the hospital when they reached the tower.

Tsunade was trying her hardest to keep Naruto alive. Everything was failing. Finally, she managed to keep in a stable but still critical condition. The operation had dragged on for hours, into the early mornings of the next day. They had to keep him under a very close watch. Any tiny twitch of change, would have to put them all on high alert. The body was so broken it was a miracle that the boy had still be in the living world when they reached him. Tsunade was sure that Naruto had some brain damage but she can't be sure of that unless he woke up but he was in a coma and hanging onto a thin line.
She had been surprise that rookie 12 were waiting outside expectantly. Some were asleep while the others were sitting in the uncomfortable chair or ground, all tense. "What are you brats doing here?"
"We were looking for you." So they don't know I was operating on him.
"What for?" Tsunade asked, sitting in a chair tiredly.
"Naruto didn't do it. We know he didn't! He is too kind for it! We have to get him out!" Lee said, standing up straight. Tsunade regarded them as another stood up to face her. "We will prove that he is innocent. The villagers are going to find a way to hurt him. They always hurt him before, they wouldn't hesitate to hurt him now that he has been thrown into prison." Neji said.
"We were too late guys." Tsunade said quietly and the group tensed even more if possible.
"What?" Sasuke whispered in horror at the thought of his best friend. Please don't be dead. You better not be dead dobe.
