"I'm not against you helping us or anything, but why are you here?" Stiles practically bounces in the driver's seat of the jeep from the adrenaline coursing through his veins.
Lydia sits in the front seat and catches my line of vision in the side mirror. Her eyes are slightly wide, like she's worried of what lie I will come up with. Stiles picked us up at Lydia's house after we got back from the mess at the gas station. Mr. Stilinski asked us a few questions before he sent us home. Kira went home while Lydia and I went with Stiles to the school.
They had found Derek at the sheriff station after being called by Stiles' dad. Unfortunely, Kate got to Derek before we could stop her and brought him to the school for some reason. Stiles whips the jeep into the school and races out of the driver's seat. Lydia rushes out and moves the seat for me to climb out next.
I slice my katana through the air. I decided that it would do better in a combat if it came down to it. Stiles runs to the back of the jeep and grabs a baseball bat. A smirk slides across my face at the sight of it.
"Come on." I say to the two of them.
Stiles parked by the football field, considering it was the closest to the road. I carefully place my katana in the harness on my back before sprinting towards the buildings of the school. The two of them race behind me. Night has fallen, leaving the school to only be lit up by the moon. Stiles and my sneakers pound against the concrete walkway underneath the bleachers by the football field. The sound of Lydia slowing down captures my attention and I whirl around.
"Are you okay?" I ask her, worriedly.
She presses her lips together, nodding. "Not as in shape as you are."
I crack a smile.
Stiles glances between the two of us, not nearly as in shape as I am, but not as bad as Lydia. He readjusts his hold on the bat.
Lydia rolls her eyes. "You seriously need to find something better than a baseball bat."
A laugh bubbles out of my chest as I turn around and start running again. A few seconds pass before the two of them follow behind me again. The three of us race towards the front of the school. I run through the courtyard of the school and slow down when I see the sign "Beacon Hills High School" turned in a new direction.
I hold a hand up behind me to stop Stiles and Lydia before they get too close. I draw my katana out and sneak towards the sign. A hidden entrance is under where the sign used to lay, leading down beneath the school. I peer down at the entrance and notice stairs. White smoke billows out of the entrance by my feet.
Slowly, like a cat sneaking up on its prey, I creep down the stairs with my katana right to swing if needed. Lydia and Stiles carefully follow behind me. The moonlight shows enough of the stairs for me to see my way down and into the room. The walls are completely concrete along with the floors.
Peter Hale sits in a crouched position in front of some safe on a table. His back is to us while he mumbles to himself, clearly in distress, "It was never- never about the Triskelion. They took it. They took it while I was blinded."
I hold up one hand to my friends. "Took what?" I speak up, curious to know what is bothering Peter.
Peter's mumbling quickly ceases. He stands up with a sigh. "Bonds."
I glance behind me to shoot a questioning look at Lydia and Stiles. They look just as confused as I am. I turn back around to see Peter spinning around to face us instead of having his back to us.
"Bearer bonds and they took them all." Peter says.
"Bearer bonds? Hold on." Stiles smirks and points his bat at Peter, amusingly. "Are you saying you got robbed?"
