Later in the evening, around 7:00. Mr. Conner called the team for a meeting at the riding arena.
We all took our seats on the bleachers and waited for him to start.
"Hello everyone, you've probably already heard, but Sasha has fractured her arm very severely. So severe that she will not be able to make it to regionals." Mr. Connor said folding his hands and looking down. There was a glimpse of worry in his eye. Sasha was one of the best riders, we might not have a chance without her and not to mention Callie."Omg Anna, that's two people off the team!" Allison cried.
"We're no match with out Callie and Sasha." I heard another girl yell.
"Alright settle down!" Mr. Connor snapped. I could tell he was upset about it also.
"There is one solution, we hold auditions for two intermediates to join our team."
I was shocked, intermediates are in the class for a reason, they are intermediate! They won't have a chance at regionals, even I don't think I will. They aren't prepared enough to join. It takes tons of practice and skill to be in advanced.
"Mr. Connor, how will that work? They aren't ready. They are in intermediate for a reason!" Allison blurted out. She folded her arms and waited for Mr. Connor to answer.
"This is the only option, or else we won't be able to enter. You will get to pick who joins. I will not, it's up to you as a team to decide. I will speak to the intermediate class shortly."
Everyone started whispering to each other.
"The auditions will be held here, same time."
He motioned for us to leave and one by one we stood up and left.
I walked out of the indoor riding arena and into the warm fall air. It was already getting dark, all the lanterns were on around the stables.
Just three more weeks until I get to go home. I miss my parents and my dog, I miss late brunches and movie nights with popcorn and nachos.
Ugh, this place is so boring. When will they have a party or something. Maybe a can host a dorm party!
Wait... That's probably not allowed.
I did hear that every December someone gets picked to organize a dance type thing. That'll be fun...
I quickly hurried back to my room and found Andrea on her phone in her bed.
"He Anna! You look like you had a ruff day." She said and slipped her phone away.
"You betcha." I replied plopping down on my own bed.
"Fill me in." She said facing me.
I told her my whole crazy day, all she could say was wow.
"I know. It sucks." I said and ran my hands through my hair.
"Do you wanna watch mean girls?" She asked chuckling a little.
"Sure! Let's go on Netflix." I was kinda in a mean girls mood, and it's been a while since I've seen it.
I left myself indulge in some buttery popcorn and Coca Cola.
After a while, Livie came in and told us lights out. I immediately drifted off into a deep peaceful sleep.
Beep beep beep
My six thirty alarm went off and I sluggishly turned it off. I was still exhausted from the other day.
I rolled off my bed and into the shower. TGIF...
Once I finished, I grabbed a towel and checked my wardrobe. I picked out a striped shirt, my favorite leggings and topped it off with my denim vest.
I walked to my table, where my make up, curler, straightener and blow dryer were.
"Morning Anna, you have practice today?" Andrea asked.
"Yeah, sorry if I woke you up."
"No, I like to get up early so I have time for a little studying."
Andrea stepped into the bathroom and I heard the shower turn on.
Every morning at 8:30 Livie would check the rooms in case anyone slept in. I really hope that'll never happen to me.
I blow dried my hair and brushed out all the tangles. I applied some heating cream and curled my hair.
I found some stray Bobby pins already and pinned up some of my curls.
I then checked my phone. I had a notification from the Canterwood Calendar that practice was cancelled this morning.
I sighed with relief, I did not feel like riding at all today.
I opened the window and saw the giant campus beneath me. The sun was just starting to come out. A few people were out near the front doing homework or admiring the view.
The stables were just to the left, and the empty outdoor arena was right beside them.
I heard Andrea come out of the shower.
"Wanna get breakfast in ten minutes, I just gotta do my hair?"
"Sounds good." I said and I began to make my bed. I put my dirty clothes in the laundry bin and tidied up my table.
Andrea went back into the bathroom.
I began to think about yesterday's incident. Poor Sasha, she must be devastated. I would feel awful if I couldn't make it to regionals...
Happy Friday guys!! Thanks for supporting my story, there will hopefully be a new update soon.
Bye, luv ya ;)
