I endured the intense training. The unnamed warrior was quite the fighter. None of my attacks were able to even come close to hitting him before he would parry off my attacks as if they were nothing. Meanwhile, his attacks were unbelievable. I could barely even block them. And from the way he attacked, it was almost as if he was holding back, a lot.

A few hours of basic attacks and blocks and the day was over with. I was exhausted and was close to passing out on the floor.

"Hey, ummm... " I stopped, realizing I did not know the man's name. "I almost forgot, I never caught your name. I'm Cruz, and you are?"

He stood silent. Staring off into something in the horizon. Or that is what it seemed like.

"Ulysses." he said in a quick, monotone co, before heading off into what I presume were his quarters in the castle. I left the castle and headed back to the inn as quickly as I could.

It wasn't until I was halfway towards the inn that I heard a loud screech. I ran towards the sound in look for whoever was making that sound. There was another screech and this time is was closer, it seemed to be echoing. I continued the search until I came face to face to a wall. Dead end. Another screech, this one being quite deafening. It was right next to me. I looked around but the only thing near me was a well. I looked down into it to find a poor sabercat cub stuck at the bottom of the well. I looked around for anything of use to help me descend into the well and fortunately there was some rope near a stable.

I tied the rope onto the top of the well and proceeded to carefully descend into the well. A few moments later and I had the cub out of the well. I took him to the town gate and placed him on the ground in hopes of him returning to the wild and to his pack on his own. I continued my walk to the inn but I felt as if someone was following me. I picked up my pace and looked around as I sped up. I heard footsteps now. Loud ones. They were pretty quick, almost as if whatever was following me was running to catch up. I stopped, realizing I was equipped to be able to fend off against almost anything. Whatever it was also stopped in its tracks. It must be behind me, so I turned around slowly. I was pounced as soon as I got a peek of what was behind me.

It was the cub I rescued. It had grown fond of me. I smiled and picked up the little guy. I decided to take him to the inn with me, after all, it didn't seem like it was going to let me leave alone anyways. I arrived at the Inn shortly but to my surprise, it was empty and pretty quiet. I checked the rooms the others were supposed to be in, but they were all empty. I entered my room and found a note on the bed.

"We bought a house near the castle. We'll be staying there from now on. You weren't here so there was no way to tell you this besides through this note. It's the second house to the right of the castle. Get your sorry arse here already. Love, Kael."

I packed my stuff quickly, and bursted out the door with my new companion, whom I named Purrcy. I arrived at our new property in short time. I stepped over to the door and to my surprise, these idiots left the door unlocked. I turned the door knob and pushed the door open.

"Which one of you idiots left the damn door open? We could have been robbe-" I stopped as I saw the scene before me.

'It's a dream, it's got to be', I thought to myself. There lied my comrades. Throats slit and face down in their own pool of blood. I walked up to Kael's corpse and got a whif of a horrendous stench and one of the worst sights imaginable. The stench, was indescribable, and what I saw, even worse. It was almost as if something had exited their bodies by clawing their way out through their throats. I ran to the next room in hopes of finding the person who did this. But to no avail. I immediately ran to the castle to inform the king of what happened. Before I could even leave the house, I was caught by the leg. I fell, face first onto the floor. I suddenly felt a great pressure on my back, holding me down.
