It was an ordinary book at first. A tale of a young man named Edrick. That name sounded so familiar to me, but I didn't remember why. I kept reading. He was on a quest to avenge his fallen father whom was murdered by an assassin hired by the king of his small town. He witnessed it happen in front of him. Since then he swore he would take the king's life and the assassins' life as well. He went through a few hardships along the way. Lost companions, was robbed, held hostage/prisoner. However, despite all this, he never gave up his goal. He eventually found the whereabouts of the assassin and got the revenge he sought. From the assassin, he discovered the whereabouts of the king and did the same, except he killed the king in the same manner he killed his father. In front of his family. And then he proceeded to kill the rest of the king's family and eventually, the whole town. He became so bloodthirsty that even his eyes became a dark crimson red and his blade began emanating a red aura. He regain his senses and realized what he had done. He hid the blade in the town, wanting to forget what had happened, knowing that getting rid of the evidence would not fix anything but it would put his mind at ease for a bit. Later that day he burned down the town and returned home.

He lived a comfortable life and eventually was able to overcome the events that took place. He started a family with his wife and they lived happily for a few years. He left town for a bit to go to a meeting a stranger had arranged with him. He waited hours for the stranger, but to no avail. Eventually, he decided to return home. He returned home only to find his family murdered by some thieves. He was broken at this very moment but also angered. His red eyes began glowing and he could feel energy within him begin to surge at incredible rates. He yelled and a wave of energy blasted from within him. Everything went black. When he awoke, he was in the middle of a crater. Nothing of his town remained. He mourned the death of his family for days, until he decided he would get settle everything. Quoting the book, 'If everything I loved is to be taken away from me, so be it. I shall take everything away from them. Including this pathetic planet.' And that was the end of it. It took me a moment to realize that this was not a story, it was a diary. The diary of Edrick. Interesting.

It made me think. Is this man still alive? Is he the one behind all this? I don't know for certain, but I was sure it was him. I would end him and stop him. Avenge my friends and Castilia. I could not let this monster continue his reign of terror. Wait, the blade. That's why I was reading in the first place. I re-read the part where he murdered the king and town. I just needed a town name. Nothing. I tried reading again and again, there had to be some hint. Aha! I found it. 'Luna'. Now where could that be? I asked Cyel if she had any idea of where that could be but she was as clueless as me. She did mention that there was a town nearby which was full of explorers and that we could start there. 'Paleto'

"Well, we should head off before its too late."

Cyel and I packed up our things and headed off to our newest destination. Along the way I had told her of my new discovery and our potential culprit. We discussed possible strategies on how to defeat this foe and possible outcomes. They were mostly jokes, like 'hit them till they die' or 'bully them until they give up'. We really could use lighthearted moments like these. Just a break from all the stuff we've gone through. We continued to joke and laugh on our little travel, stopping at several inns along the way. We developed a great bond by the time we reached Paleto. Before we could even get close to the entrance though, we felt another presence. This time I was annoyed. I took a quick step back and turned around.

*Purr*

I looked down and saw the sabercat cub from before.

"Purrcy?! I almost forgot about you," I picked him up, "I'm sorry little guy. Have you been following us this whole time? Well, you're welcome to come along with us. Now come on!"
